I have a fitbit charge 2 that went over to the DARK side. No... Like seriously though... SO, I noticed that the screen is completely black BUT it still is tracking my steps and vibrates. Yep its like my original fitbit without having all the modern capabilities like a CLOCK (kinda a big deal) and able to see notifications.
Here's what I've tried- Picked out a new setting for the clock to make it populate like I saw in a how to video NOPE... didn't work. Lastly, I reset the fitbit… it vibrated but that was it.
HELP me out! (my brother said its programmed to break so I have to buy a new one 😞 And while I would love a newer one that's not in a broke school teachers salary as a single mother with just my income) … So am I back to the stone ages??
Thanks in advance- Jessica

Interested in the solution. My screen suddenly cracked one day then I had the lines appear in my display. Then within 2 weeks the entire display went black. As you say it still technically tracks everything and syncs with the app but there is no display on the actual Fitbit.
This happened to my charge 2 about a year ago (after the warranty expired of course). I’ve tried every attempt to fix it and nothing works. Been using it “as is” since then. Now it rarely tracks heart rate.
My husband is on his second one this year. I’m definitely NOT buying another.

You literally just described my exact problem! Learning that this seems to be a common problem. No solution has been found while "troubleshooting" & my warranty has also expired (of course).
So my question is: can this be fixed or not? Love my Fitbit & just want it to work as before. Really can't afford to replace it at this time...

I’m guessing not. The reason I’m back in the forums is because it’s no longer tracking heart rate and I’m trying to find a fix. I purchased my Charge 2 in May 2017. I’ve been using it “as is” (cracked screen, black/blank display, still syncs to app) for almost 9 months.
These things should last longer than this for how expensive they are. Of course FitBit will never admit it but as many post as there are over cracked screens suddenly appearing, and permanent display failure I’m sure the average life expectancy for these is 18-24 months at best. Any use you getting over that is probably luck.
