My fitbit battery died a week ago. I remembered to charge it yesterday.
Once charged I noticed the screen did not come on.
I tried to reset it using the (put on charger, hold button 8 seconds) and (put on charger hold 15 seconds) methods. They are restarting it, I know this because when I tried to sync it couldn't find the fitbit for a few seconds during the restart but the screen stayed black.
I tried changing the clock, several times.
I tried updating the app. I tried syncing it. I tried restarting my phone and updating the app then syncing again.
None of these things worked. I tried unpairing my fitbit to force a change... with out the screen I can't re-pair it however. Now my fitbit is a vibrating brick.
The heart rate light does come on and it does vibrate. The fitbit is not wet and has never received much of a shock, drop, or water past washing hands. There is no external damage.

Unfortunately Fitbits seem to only last 12 to 20 months. My second charge 4 has just done the same. If your first watch they may send new one out, even if out of warranty. I got 35% off voucher but as the new charge 5 costs £170 here and only £135 at argos or currys the gesture is hollow. These watches are great when they work but too expensive to replace every 12-20 months.
