Blank gray area in sleep tracking

Does anyone know the answer to why the Fitbit 2  shows about a one or two hour window where there is no sleep and the heart rate is working? It’s like a gray area but I have no idea what happens. Does the Fitbit just  lose connection?

@Azconnie It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community! Sorry for the delay in my reply.

Let me help you with your sleep detection. Your device will start recording sleep after it detects an hour of inactivity. If you have a light sleep or move too much then this may difficult your sleep detection. Additionally you can try wearing your device on your non dominant hand to decrease the amount of movement it is subjected to. Finally you can restart your device. You can also manually log your sleep time. You can read more about sleep detection here.

Let me know how it goes.

Hi there! Happy Sunday! I don’t think you’re understanding what I’m saying. I do you have the Fitbit on my non-dominant arm. And I do realize how the Fitbit detects sleep. The thing I’m asking is if I could’ve sent you the screenshot of the actual sleep meter on the dashboard it would’ve showed you that I had been in all stages of sleep and then there’s a period of about two hours that’s actually grayed out with nothing registered on the sleep meter. Then the meter reconnects until the morning. So there’s actually two places that had my sleep. 9:55pm-2:38am. And another 4:02am-7:28am. I was wondering what happened in between 2:38 and 4:02?

I see other people of had this problem also. Can you shed any light on this situation? I would truly appreciate it!

Thank you so much!
