Brand new Charge 2 won’t hold a charge

Hi! I just received a Charge 2 as a gift, new in box. I have been able to successfully charge the Fitbit but it indicates out-of-battery minutes after discontenting from the power source. I have tried restarting by holding the button for 10 seconds until the icon appears but this does not seem to help. I have also downloaded the Fitbit app and synced the device. Perhaps I  missing a step in the initial set up process since I just opened the box last night? Or maybe the battery is deficient? Any help is appreciated, thanks! —Allison

Hi @amdub  the Charge 4 was just released, so your Charge 2 may be older than you think, which means the battery has been dead for quite some time. Here is the link - click - for the Charge 2 user manual and related articles.

@Odyssey13 Thanks for the insight! What a disappointment though... never been used and a dead battery. I’m seeing that the design does not allow the battery to be easily changed but others have been able to solder in a new one.
