Brand new Charge 3, will not update for the first time. I’ve followed all the instructions but keep getting a ‘!’ After putting the pin in?

It's not connecting via bluetooth. Are you getting any notifications or syncing between the tracker and your phone/device?

I got a brand new Charge 3 yesterday. The app says I need to update before I can use. I've tried 20 times and have not been successful. I've held the fitbit button until I get the smiley face, turned bluetooth on/off on my phone, closes & reopened the app. Everything it fully charged and plugged into the charger while I try. It starts out updating saying it will take 30 minutes -- then after about 5 minutes when it gets to 12% or so in the update, it crashes out. Have you had any luck getting it work at all?

Have you had a answer as I have a replacement charge 3 as the screen went dead on a six month old one and now the new one says I need an update which it won't do I have forgot the devices removed the app turned off the phone blue tooth all the things its say to do more than 20 times over several hours and still the same a few seconds after saying updating it says failed any ideas ?

I am having the same issues. Replaced mine since the first one lasted 6 months before breaking. With the new one it keeps failing to update despite trying all the troubleshoot options and now the new fitbit has a white line and shows nothing and I cant even use it.
Complete joke, especially for how much it costs.
Any help would be appreciated as well.

Brand new charge 3 connects to my phone but firmware update immediately fails. I called Fitbit tech support and after a 30 minute hold, I was told this is a problem on Fitbit’s end and should be fixed by tomorrow. Bummer I couldn’t start to use it right away but wanted to post this in case it helps anyone else.

I also have a brand new Charge 3 that won't update. I've tried all the troubleshooting and it just starts the update and then fails.

I’ve had this Fitbit for 5 days and I still can’t use it. Experiencing the same problems as Above.. it will start to update then crash . Can anybody help.. tried the above suggestions to no avail
