It is ridiculous how much these items cost and yet break way too quickly. My Charge 4 was past the warranty a few months but one of the connectors broke off. I discovered it’s PLASTIC! The discount offered does not apply to the one I would choose. However after reading the reviews I’ve decided it’s time to find another company. In the meantime I will return to my charge 2 that has a cracked face but at least the connections are metal.

Amazon sells bands to use when the connector piece breaks off. The pebble fits into the band snuggly, no connector piece needed. The brand names are Supcase, Goseth, Kakurookie, & Saufly, they range in price from $7.99-$16.99. They aren’t fashionable but they solve the problem.

Thanks. I was able to return it to the store for a full refund. Looks like Fitbit realized the poor quality and changed it on the charge 5.

Where that may be a solution, it’s not something I wish to do. I’ll look into other activity trackers.

I’m glad that you were able to get a full refund. Even though they changed the connector on the Charge 5, from forum postings they have a problem where the bands unattach for no reason and the device is lost. Good luck with your new tracker whatever brand that may be.
