Broken connector band - Charge 4

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

SOOO Disappointed my Fitbit band connector piece snapped this morning getting ready for work.  Not fixable.  really disappointed in this quality.  This is our 3rd Charge 4 connector to snap.  My sons snapped with in 1 year and was replaced by warranty however it snapped again and then he had to buy the rubber wrist bands you put the fitbit face piece in.  He doesnt like it - feels clunky.  My fit bit charge is 22 months so Im past warranty.  Its terrible that its so poorly made they snap like this after such a short time!  I Dont want a clunky rubber band like my sons.  any other options?

Hello Parkwest,
I bought this strap -
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0B2DL62Q4/ref=pe_27063361_487055811_TE_3p_dp_1

Hope it's useful. I found it quite hard to get the Fitbit into it. I left
off the broken side of the original watch body. The original charger does
fit over and makes the electrical connection to charge.

Hello,

I found it on Amazon. It’s not “pretty” more sporty but the only one I
could find.

Hi!
This has saved my Fitbit! The band looks cool and fits very well. The Fitbit functions just as new! I hope this is helpful for you.

That’s brilliant! Thank you so much! Much better alternative then buying a new tracker.

My Charge 4 broke the exact same way yesterday, I am fuming.
I will now put it in the drawer with the three Fitbit Charge 3's I have with dead screens.
Time to rethink my loyalty to the Fitbit brand.

Really tired of fitbit.  I have had three.  One stopped working, the second ones connector piece broke and now my third ones connector band broke.  Why are they so cheaply made.

Best Answer

I have the same problem. Really disappointed. The first charge 4 had ran into battery issues. It would drain out completely in a few hours. Got a replacement - fast forward one year the band connector broke. And they are offering 35% off as a solution? This is a joke looking at the number of reports of the same issue.

Did you end up reporting it?

Best Answer
It’s a known manufacturer defect and they offer nothing for it. Should be
pulled from the shelves and recalled.--

My replacement also snapped at the same spot 9 months later. But as it was past the 1 year timeline from when the original was purchased Fitbit said they will not replace it and no option to fix it. So disappointed.

Same here. 35% off? So bad. Mine is 1.5 years old.

I guess I am the latest addition to this unfortunate family whose fitbit charge 4 strap connector got broken and I'm unable to fix it. Please Fitbit help me.

Not ideal.

But I bought this as a workaround. It helped resurrect my broken Fitbit until the next issue occurs.

The connector has just broken on mine. It's 2 months out of warranty. I don't want 35% off a new one, i want to have this one fixed. Poor show Fitbit 🤬

Yes same thing happened to me.  I am so mad that I am only out warranty a bit and it is product issue that they won't replace this.

You can order a replacement band on amazon. I’m still able to wear my Fitbit with the Amazon band.

Its the part that connects the strap to the unit thats broken. I have many
straps, they cannot connect when the joining part (attached to the unit) is
broken! This is the manufacturing fault so many have frustratingly
experienced

This rubber watch cover solves the problem.

The connector on the watch is broken - not the band. As such you have to
find a band that “encapsulates” the watch. There aren’t many choices and
most look rugged.

Point is - this is a known manufacturer defect and they provide zero
support with regards to this. I was offered a $25 gift card to purchase
another Fitbit product. Not a “fitting” response. Pun intended.

Yes very disappointed.  Fitbit should give us this band that encapsulates the Fitbit and we won't have to buy it on Amazon.
