Button is stuck on Charge 3 and it is glitching between screens

the button is stuck on my charge 3 and keeps going back and forth between the home screen and the sleep/DND screen uncontrollably. I've tried resetting the device, but the button won't stay engaged long enough to fully restart. I've talked to support and found them very unhelpful. Are these devices really designed to be worthless after a year? I think my only option is to buy a new device but I don't want to throw my money away to a poor product.
