Calorie allowance not updating as I exercise

For the last 4-5 months (possibly longer) I’ve been having to manually calculate all of my calories because my Fitbit app has decided to just stop calculating my “calories left” entirely, and it only changes when I log my food. For example, I had breakfast earlier and logged it in the app so then it said I had 980 calories left to eat (already wrong because I burned about 200 calories since the time I woke up) so I went for a run just now and burned a little over 500 calories- but my calories in STILL says 980?? When it should register that I have way more than that left by now. Is anyone else experiencing this or know how to fix it? It’s so frustrating having to do this manually and I’m scared it’s going to affect my weight loss progress because I am by no means good at math lmao. I’m using the Charge 2 + HR, I’m wondering if it’s just time to purchase a new one if that has anything to do with it..

@EmilyHeimall It's great to have you here!

Sorry to hear that the Fitbit app isn't showing the Calories Left correctly. This is more an issue with the app than with the tracker so no need to change it but you can try logging out from the app, restart your phone and log back in. Also make sure that the app is up to date.

Let me know how it goes.

Didn't help at all. I obsessively make sure both the app and my phone are always updated. I've restarted my band, logged in and out, re-connected and set up my band multiple times, still having the exact same issue 3 months later. Still extremely disheartening and frustrating.

Could it have anything to do with the fact that i manually entered my calorie goal? As opposed to doing the questionnaire in settings and letting the app "help me set a goal"?
