When I had the Fitbit charge 2 if I manually changed the duration of a workout the calories burned would auto update - I assume based on the average calories burned in the workout or my average heartbeat.
Now that I have the Fitbit charge 3 this isn’t happening.
For example, this morning I accidentally forgot to start tracking my workout until about 10 mins in. After I finished my workout I went into the app and edited the start time to accurately reflect when I should have started the tracking. However, the calories remained the same. With the Fitbit charge 2 the calories would have increased as I had increased the duration of the workout.
Any suggestions or is this just not a feature on the charge 3?

Welcome on board @Stella_fit, it's nice to see you around here! When it comes to editing the time, this is not currently something you can do. If you forgot to start your workout/exercise you will need to delete the exercise and manually enter it with the correct details since you'll only have the option to edit the name of the activity.
I can recommend going to the Feature Request board where I was able to find this request for having the ability to edit exercises that you might find handy and add your vote and comments.
However, I was wondering if by any change you're using a third-party app where you manually edit the time of the exercise?
Looking forward to your reply!

This response is completely incorrect. We can and have been able to edit the start and end times of our workouts for quite some time now. I would urge you to take a closer look, as the response you provided was inaccurate. So, the question remains: Why can we edit the start and end times of a workout and yet the app fails to update the calories burned accordingly? This is a significant shortcoming.

Agreed. Inaccurate response and super important to get this right. When I adjust time to longer the calories go up BUT When I adjust the time back down, the calories do not go back down.
Fitbit - any updates answer you could give would be appreciated

This worked for me...I ditched FitBit and bought an Apple Watch Series 5. Couldn’t be happier!!!

I also have this problem and agree that the response provided to date is incorrect- I can edit timings on tracked exercise. It is odd that the charge 2 had this functionality but the charge 3 doesn’t?!

I have the exact same problem with my Versa. Very annoying!

I use a Versa and I have the same issue.
If I forget to stop my exercise tracking by, say, 30 minutes, and then go back and remove those 30 minutes from the log, nothing else—the calories, distance, pace of my run—gets updated. What is the point of just changing my actual run time but not everything else the Fitbit is tracking?
Is someone going to come back and answer all of us? It's at times like these that I really want to just ditch Fitbit and move on to something better. You guys' customer service leaves a lot to be desired.

I am thinking of switching over from a Fitbit to something else. I am sick of the band breaking and other user experience issues, like the one this post is related to. Looking at either Garmin or Apple Watch.

I’d recommend a Garmin Fenix 6. It is leaps and bounds better than the Fitbit and very durable.

I have a work around for this. If you delete the line and add it again for the correct times this works and calculates your calories, heart rate etc for that time. Hope this help.

I tried what you suggested but it reduces the calories burned to lower than the shorter workout.
I had actually started the workout correctly but it terminated after a few seconds.

Hey Yh sorry I realised this after that it just puts in estimated calories burned for that time you can change the calories manually though. It also does pick up activity with out starting a specific exercise. If you click on the zone minutes in the app it shows a build up to those minutes. It may have picked up your work out. I still can’t figure out what to do when I forget to finish an exercise because when you adjust the time in the app the calories just stay the same
