I work on construction sites. I move my hand a lot. And every time i do i get a small vibration and the screen turns on. Is it possible to turn this function off on the Fitbit 3 ? It eats a lot off battery also. I got mine on Sunday and yesterday i had 10% battery left.

Thanks for getting back @Krillan! I'd recommend restarting your Charge 3 by following these steps:

  • lug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  • Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port.
  • Make sure the button on your tracker is aligned with the button opening on the charging cable. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display.
  • Press and hold the button on your tracker for 8 seconds. When you see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.
  • Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

Then, please let's try these steps once again:

  • On your tracker, press and hold the button until the Quick Settings menu appears.
  • Find the Screen Wake option and tap it to turn it off.
  • Sync your tracker to save the changes.

Also, do this on your Fitbit app:

  • From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon.
  • Tap or click your device image.
  • Find an option to turn off Quick View.
  • Sync your tracker to save the changes

Give this a shot and let me know if the restart and sync steps do the trick!

Yes, you can turn the Quick View feature off and extend your battery life. I found these instruction in the Charge 3 Help pages

@MarreFitbit

Well, is it possible to have the quick view off at night automatically so the screen light doesn't wake you up... ?

Best Answer

Thanks for jumping in here @pilv13! Not at this time my friend, you'll need to manually turn off the Quick View during nights.

I'd recommend checking out our Feature Suggestion Board if you haven't already. This is a space where Community users can post features, ideas, and suggestions that they'd like to see in future Fitbit products, accessories, and software and top-voted suggestions get relayed to our product team for review.

I'd also recommend up-voting and commenting on Turn off quick view when I'm sleeping, "Night Mode" feature suggestion since it is very similar of what you're looking and asking for. This suggestions is marked as "Under Consideration". You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQsWoman Very Happy

In the meantime, if you decide to turn the quick view off during nights, here are the steps.

Hope this helps, I'll be around if you need further assistance!

Worked perfectly for me! Thanks!

I don't see any "Quick View" settings available in the APP for Charge 3.

Best Answer

MarreFitbit...there is no "quickview" option on the Android app like there was for the Charge 2

The only way to disable it is to do it directly on the Charge 3 by

press and hold the button until the Quick Settings menu appears

Screen Wake option is at the top. Tap it to turn it off.

I have done this and my screen still turns on when I really don't want it to.  If I push a sleeve up or touch the non switch side of my device, or even tapping on the screen.  Maybe this is by design but its way too sensitive, feels like this thing is always lighting up.

Hello @Shorane@JayWms and @Buzzsaw, it's good to see you around in the forums.

@Shorane, thanks for the updates, it's good to know things are working fine with your Charge 3.

@JayWms, thanks for the details your provided. The Screen Wake option should be turned off by pressing and holding the button, and then tapping on Screen Wake to turn it off, as you mentioned you did. Regarding the sensitivity, it could be related to this, but it depends on how the wrist movement is happening, in any case, I would recommend that you also try performing a restart, and check how it works for you in the next few days.

Thank you for sharing this information @Buzzsaw, I'm sure it will be useful to other users as well.

I hope this helps.

I was about to post a super-frustrated response that I don't have a Screen Wake Option in my brand new Charge 3's settings. But then I re-read what you said to "hold the button until the Quick Settings menu appears", and realized this "Quick Settings" menu is different from the settings menu accessed by swiping. So thanks!

I'm glad to have a solution, but this is a great example of Fitbit not making features easy to access, and/or making them extremely confusing (settings vs. quick settings, and that the quick settings cannot be accessed via settings nor can they be accessed via the android Fitbit app using the directions provided multiple times).

@CaptainAries Welcome to the Fitbit forums! I'm glad you found this thread to be helpful. Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback about the Quick Settings.

In this case, I'd recommend creating a Feature Suggestion about the ideas you have about the Quick Settings menu. This way, other users can vote for the idea and comment to support it.

Let me know if you create an idea! Smiley Happy

Are you really a representative of the company? Turning off Quickview doesn't solve the problem, repeating these instructions every now and then does not help.

Telling paying customers to go to a link where they have to beg for a solution to be implemented by voting for it is shameful.

This is a BUG. A serious bug. A sleep tracking function that wakes a user up is a malfunction and it has been ongoing for years with previous Fitbit models. Just wish I'd read about it before forking out over £100.

There are cheaper options out there that don't have this bug.

Please provide a software update fix.
