I have used my Charge 3 for about a week for walks and swims. I heard there was a way to update your swim by editing it and then you can view your heart rate. Or just let it auto track your swim. Has anyone done this?

Welcome to the Community, @Arbypb.
Regarding your inquiry, you can track lengths, time, distance, and pace during your swims. For more information about this, check the article: How do I track my swims with my Fitbit device?.
Let me know if you need anything else.

I have the Versa 2 and today was the first time I used the "Swim" exercise via my watch. Like many have said, my HR was shut off. There is a gap from the time I turned on/off the swim exercise in my HR stats. However what is odd is the exercise did provide me with my Active Minutes and broke it down into Cardio/Peak and Fat Burn; which is based on HR. I thought that was weird. My lap count was higher, but I'm a novice swimmer and took breaks so I'm not too upset with that being off. I'm mostly interested in calories burned being accurate, mine seemed a little lower than I thought (185 in 26 minutes) but that maybe was fairly accurate I guess. In the end, mine wasn't perfect but I don't think it was wildly off either. I do wish the HR wasn't shut off though. I'm not sure why that is.
