Will my Charge 3 be safe being submerged in salt water for long periods of time? I’m going to be in the ocean for a few hours each day for a week vacation and need to know if I should take my Fitbit off before getting in the ocean. It won’t be submerged in very deep water, just around 5 to 6 feet deep.

Hi @SunsetRunner Yes, it should be fine. Just make sure you wash it off well after your swim to get the salt off.

Welcome on board @SunsetRunner, it's nice to see a new member around! Charge 3 is water resistant up to 50 meters for use in the pool, ocean, shower or rain.
I agree with @NellyG. Just make sure you're rising off the salt water after an ocean dip to prevent salt buildup, as with any other device. For more information about wearing your Fitbit device, see our Wear and Care page.
Please let us know if there's anything else we may do to assist you.

I was recently on holiday in Australia and Lord Howe Island... and wore my fitbit Charge 3 while swimming in shallow water... it has completely stopped working... the green lights went away... and after I had washed and dried it carefully.. no light appeared... so I tried charging it... at which point a persistent red light came on... I have not found anyway to reactivate it... it is about a year old... a christmas present last year... any suggestions or help would be very welcome... thank you

When the charge 3 acts up I do a reset. You place it in the charger charging then hold the button for 5 seconds. That causes a reset.
