Display on the Charge 3 is useless in sunlight

Hi @golander,

I'm having the same problem with mine.  Maybe we should try resetting our devices to see what happens.  This can be done by plugging it into a computer and holding down the side button for 8 seconds.  Your data won't be erased during the process.

I had a problem with my fitbit buzzing at me and I could not figure out what to do. When I saw your note on how to reset it, I tried it and that fixed my problem. Thanks, DramaQueenDiva.

You are correct. My wife's Charge 3 is useless in the sun, but my Versa is readable.

I can't see it on the brightest setting in the sunlight either. Yet another thing that wasn't a problem on the charge 2.

I swear, whoever designed the charge 3 has never worn a fitbit device in their life.

I have the same complaint.  Whenever my friends see me struggle with it, I am advised to get a Garmin.  I am starting to take that advice seriously.

My Alta is the same. Worthless outside Never again.

That's the charge-3 I think because a lot of people are having that problem. I noticed that fitbit kept that little dark secret out of the reviews so suckers like us would buy into it. I bought mine for swimming but found free phone apps that can track my laps just as well. Have taken it off and thrown it in the drawer.

I saw that you can go in settings and change the brightness. I tried this, but then it dimmed it further to the point I cannot read the thing at all, no matter the light, which also makes it impossible to get back into settings to try the fix again. Grrr.

Has anyone used the auto brightness setting?

Yes, even the brightest setting is invisible when the device is in sunlight

Agreed.  Useless to run with outside.  The Charge 2 was at least readable.  (And resetting it does not solve the problem)

I totally agree I loved my charge 2 but I cracked my screen on it so I bought a charge 4 and I am not happy with it.
