You cannot set up an account for a child under the age of 13. It is a federal law due to the social networking aspects of Fitbit. Your only option is an Ace tracker set up under a family account.

Note, the Charge 2 is no longer in production.

Do you have a link to the federal law?

I understand the need for COPPA compliance, but your reasoning does not make sense. All that fitbit needs to do to allow "adult" bands to work is to not collect any data it's not supposed to collect. Keep the kids interface the same and hobble the band collection policy and you're good. In the end, it's not the band that's the problem it's the interaction of the app and what it collects.

Then someone tell Fitbit to open up other trackers under the child accounts. That does not make any sense that my child MUST be forced to use an Ace2.

Yes my son wants to use my old Charge 2 and I’ve added him to my family account but Fitbit only allow the children’s trackers which is ridiculous.

Fitbit please open this up to other trackers as not all kids want a kids tracker!
