I'm a new owner of a Charge 2 and so far I love it. One feature I haven't been able to find a question/answer for. Can someone else track my route while I am running? This is something I want my husband to be able to do for safety reasons, since I usually run solo (with my scary dog). Can we sync the device on more than one phone for this purpose? OR, can one fitbit "live track" another, if he were to have one also (he's getting one for his bday)? Thanks in advance for any info on this! 🙂

Hi @Simbasmom,
That's an interesting question. It's a complicated situation. Basically, the problem is going to be that the map route only gets generated at the end of the run, so there's no way to monitor it live. And he'd only be able to see the map after you had done a sync on your phone at the end of the run, which probably wouldn't happen if you were experiencing an emergency.
There's lots of phone-locating software that can do what you're asking. I've had luck with Lookout on android, but there are many choices, so I would check those out.

If you are using an iPhone go into Settings, Privacy, Location Services, Share My Location
He can then run the Find iPhone app and see where you are.
Android devices have a similar feature.

Thank you! This may have to be what we do (we have androids), and will look into this. The above comment answered my question, now this may be a possible solution. Thanks to you both!

No. The tracker has no “internal” location capabilities.

The tracker would also need its own Internet connection and not depend on the phone.
Sorry you will need to take a phone with you.

I have wondered if strangers can somehow hack Fitbit and track my routes and routines. My Fitbit does have a built in GPS. So far I haven’t been able to get an answer to this question.

@Smellie32 as mentioned above, Fitbit has no live tracking option. Fitbit will only date the route after the fact.
I'm not sure which Fitbit you have, but the Charge 2 does not have a bit in GPS, it uses the phones GPS.
If your tracker has built in GPS for someone to track you, as mentioned above, your tracker will also need an internet connection while your out for a run. Your tracker is unable to send your run to Fitbit until after the run is over.
As @WaveyDavey mentioned above, even a husband that wants to track their wife through Fitbit will not be able to.
Also please read my last post above yours which answers your question.
As for Fitbit, their is no case of Fitbit being hacked. There have been a few cases users have had their account compromised but this is a problem with the user not properly managing their password. IE: using only a few passwords for all of their accounts.
Even then as mentioned above, no one will be able to track your current run. Fitbit does not provide this service.
If your interested in being tracked live, their is a suggestion for this option. But please be aware that it will eat the battery up very quickly.
Please enable live location tracking!

If you are worried about recovering your lost data from the android phone after you have done the factory reset but don’t know how to do it, then this is the place from where you will find the best possible answer to solve this quarry.
2- Cocospy: In case you utilized Cocospy. Follow the steps
Sign Up > target iPhone’s iCloud ID and password.> Control Panel.
I checked https://www.cocospy.com/blog/how-to-track-my-husbands-phone-without-touching-it.html a few days back.
2- Recovering Data after Factory Reset Android free from Google: As you have backup your password and data through Android phone on google account the time before you rearrange the device, your applications should jolt reloading and reinstating when you log in google. In case it doesn't reinstate phone via automatic processing then you can check your setting menu by doing Setting > Personal > Backup & Restore > Automatic Restore.
3- Google Drive APP: Users can check the backed up files and folders in google drive, such as images, audios, and videos, and documents.

You can download Strava and use the beacon function. The only thing is you have to start your run in the Strava App as well. There is also a way in the IPhone to track in the text messenger.
