Can't add exercise on app, option missing

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Wanted to go for a walk this morning and several of the plus signs have disappeared from the App on my phone. I am therefore unable to add/map my walk. I've reset the Charge 3, restarted my phone, turned bluetooth off and on and re-paired the device all to no avail. Haven't uninstalled/re installed the App as not sure if that will mean me losing previous data. Phone is Huawei P20 Lite. Fitbit version 22.58.00. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

@pdunny @auggiefit Welcome! It's nice to have you on board!

Let me help you with your missing option to add exercises. Could you share a screenshot of this issue? Which phone and which OS version is it running? In the mean time try logging out from the app, restart your phone and log back in.

Let me know how it goes.

Hi. Thanks for your response. Tried logging out etc still not working.006.jpgAs I hope you can see from the screenshot there is no + sign next to walk, sleep etc.It re-appears at the weight section. I am using a Huawei P20 Lite. Android v9 EMUI 9.1.0. Please note I am using a charge 2 and not 3 as I originally said. Didn't notice until I re-read it. Sorry.

My plus sign to the right of my exercise tile is missing. I have forced closed the app and nothing.  I have reinstalled my alta hr and still nothing..... I don't want to manually add in exercise because it doesn't track actual calories burnt, just what you should burn..... HELP!!!!

I'm having the same issue as of this morning.  I updated the Fitbit app, turned iPhone off/on, reset my Charge 2 device and confirmed that both the app and my iPhone allow for location services and GPS tracking.

The only workaround I can find to track exercise without using the now missing plus (+) symbol is to select the Exercise This Week (i.e. 3 of 5 days) and click on the stopwatch (top right of screen) next to Settings icon. At the top are Track and Log options.  If you select TRACK, you can start your exercise.

Can't wait to find out what has changed and why this isn't available anymore!

Just wanted to chime in, the same thing happened to me! No + next  to the exercise icon. Hopefully it gets resolved soon!

Same with my charge 2 and my partner’s charge 3. The + disappeared during yesterday and my Fitbit didn’t capture automatically my combat class last night. When I scroll back by day the + show and then delete themselves. Assume this is a bug?

Thanks for the info on the workaround Neenee. Will give that a try tomorrow if still not showing the + sign.

Mine is doing the same, a Charge 2. I have tried all the same things mentioned, restarting, updating app, disconnecting bluetooth, etc. Plus sign to add exercise is missing. Obviously this is Fitbit's issue since it is all happening at the same time and nothing has fixed it.

Yep me too. Yesterday as well. Charge 2 on an iPhone 6S. Clearly from the replies I've read the problem isn't peculiar to any particular phone or fitbit device. The app is pointless without being able to track exercise sessions. This is the second major change to the app in a few months. The sudden absence of a heart rate report during exercise was bad enough given monitoring my heart rate during exercise was why I bought the device in the first place. But now that we can't even add an exercise activity I wonder why I wear the thing. Sort it out Fitbit. Slowly but surely your product is deteriorating and if you keep going it won't be long before it's useless.

Also the easy access to the alarm was moved.

I've discovered the workaround:

- Click on the "x of X days of exercise this week" bar

- Click on the "alarm clock" on the top right

- Click on "Track" in the top middle (Mine was on "Log" the first time, but now defaults to Track)

Voila.
