Can't "Update App" for my Charge 2 Fitbit

I have a Charge 2 Fitbit that I use to track my exercise and sleep.  Today I received a message that I need to update my Fitbit app: "This version is no longer compatible with your Charge 2.  Your device may not be able to connect with the app until you update."  I clicked the blue "Update App" button on the screen, then clicked "OPEN" on the Fitbit app, but nothing happened.  Instead, it just returned me to the screen that says I need to update my Fitbit app.  What's wrong?

Rich,

I found this guidance on the Fitbit website:

1. Close the Fitbit app

2. Turn off Bluetooth in Settings >> Bluetook, then turn Bluetooth back on.

3. Re-boot your iPhone.

It worked!

With not knowing what type of device that your Fitbit all is on, I suggest going to your app store. Find the Fitbit app and hit update.

Or go to https;//www.fitbit.com/setup You will be directed to the latest Fitbit app for your device.
