My one year old charge 3 has gotten dimmer over time. Next it got lines across the readout. Now when changing from normal brightness to auto brightness, I have a black screen totally useless for every benefit.

@Yarnlover This sounds like your display is dying, which is a hardware issue.  I'd recommend you reach out to Customer Support for further assistance.  Best of luck!
