I "upgraded" to a Charge 6. I hate it and want to go back to my Charge 4, which was working, but the strap was wearing through. I have fixed the strap, but now cannot get the Charge 4 to work with the app. The message on the tracker when I try to connect is to install or update the app. This makes no sense. All the app is showing is the 4-digit code I entered from the tracker and a never-ending message that it's connecting. I have uninstalled and removed the Charge 6 from Bluetooth and rebooted the Charge 4. What else do I need to do?

Hi there, @Ninjam. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and for the troubleshooting steps you've tried. I'm sorry to hear that you're still having difficulties to set up your Charge 4. I will do my best to help you with this!
In addition to the steps you've done so far, please try the following in the order listed:
With the steps above, what I want you to do is to pair your Charge 4 first to your phone's Bluetooth settings before any other Bluetooth device is connected to your phone.
Was my post helpful? Give it a thumbs up to show your appreciation! Of course, if this was the answer you were looking for, don't forget to make it the Best Answer! Als...

I have the exact same problem. Did they ever solve yours? 🫣

Thank you, that's an excellent description that resolves the problems, I've seen similar issues earlier this year and doing everything that MarreFitbit has just described resolved all of my issues and my Charge-4 is still working excellently. I have always been impressed and very happy with the original Fitbit workers and the older Fitbit devices.

I'm having the exact same problem. The app is showing the 4-digit code I entered from the tracker and a never-ending message that it's connecting. The message on the tracker says to download or update the app. But I'm already in the app. None of the suggested steps identified have worked. I've re-booted, disconnected, re-installed everything to no avail. Help?

I just got it to work after several hours and attempts. There was an iPhone software update I did and then after that it all worked. Weird.

I have a problem with my Fitbit too. I bought a Charge 6 and hated it, so I disconnected, it reset up the Charge 4 and it was working ok for a week or two, but I went to Spain last week (different time zone) and it started behaving really weirdly. I had set the correct time zone up and every time i tried to track a walk, it counted it twice with the overlap in the time zone so it was adding extra miles! I came home yesterday, reset the local time zone and now when I try to track a walk it isn't logging the miles, only steps as if I had not set "track my activity"! Any ideas? Thanks

I have the same problem with Fitbit Charge 4 and followed these processes and did not work. Charge 4 is not pairing to iPhone 12 after hitting "forget device". I do not have a Premium account and am a legacy user. I appreciate any recommendation on what else I can try.

Thank you. I tried all of the above. It didn't work. In desperation I deleted all the data from the Charge4 and had one more go.
That worked.
I now have issues with the data not transferring correctly from the device to my phone - example this morning I finished a walk of 3.58 miles according to the device. Synched to my phone, which is trying to tell me I did 2.39 miles. This is not the first time this has happened. Also why is my route not showing on the Walk details screen? It should come up with the GPS record, but it's not there. When I checked, this has occurred for the last 3 days, yet if I scroll back to last week, and even Monday and Tuesday this week, previous walks are shown.
The app is like Whack A Mole. One glitch sorted and another one pops up. Any ideas how I can get an accurate transfer of data from watch to phone and complete details when it gets there? Thanks.

Hi, see above. Relevant bit:
"Thank you. I tried all of the above. It didn't work. In desperation I deleted all the data from the Charge4 and had one more go. That worked."
So it was like restoring factory settings on the Charge 4. Hope it works for you!

Hi, I've answered above, but in short I had to restore factory settings by deleting all the data on the Charge4 and starting from scratch. I removed it from Bluetooth, etc., as well. Good luck!

I have tried all these and my charge 4 still will not pair. Any other ideas?
