I have a new Charge 3 - my first Fitbit - and I am completely baffled about how to get it set up and working.
I have installed the Fitbit app on my Android phone, but it and the Charge 3 don't seem to want to talk.
I have the Charge 3 plugged in via a USB cable, and it seems to be charging. The screen is dark most of the time - when I clip the charger on it flashes up the charge level for maybe a second, and then goes dark.
The Fitbit did for a while say that I needed a new version of firmware (on the fitbit, I assume), but now it won't even connect over Bluetooth - the phone offers the Charge 3 as something to connect to via Bt, but it doesn't actually connect.
Help!

Unlike most bluetooth devices, you do not connect in your phone's bluetooth settings screen. You connect within the Fitbit app. I had the same issue recently when I replaced my phone. Go into the app settings and try setting up the notifications. It should connect eventually.

Thanks. Setting up what notifications?
I am conpletely confused by this process - there were no instructions in the box, just a small card saying to install the app, but the app is really confusing.
Are there clear instructions on what to do somewhere?

You need to set up the device from the app. But first of all, you need to set up an account to fitbit.
