Can’t update firmware in replacement Charge2

My old fitbit battery died and I just got a replacement.

I have charged the new battery, deleted the old one from the account, and added the new one.

Apparently is linked and the synchronization seems to work, but, I can't update the firmware.

Keeps showing an error image on the fitbit screen, and the phone keeps trying and trying, but nothing happens and there's no progress at all.

I have rebooted everything: the fitbit, the phone, the bluetooth on the phone and nothing. There's no way to update the firmware of the replacement. Actual version is 22.22.53.4

Help, please?

Thanks in advance

Hey @Miriamele, I hope you are doin' fine! You need to update the Firmware of your Charge 2 to the latest version which is 22.55.2. I appreciate the tips you have tried so far to update it. Since this can't be done, I suggest you to try to update the Firmware of your tracker by using a computer. In order to do that, please follow the instructions in this help article: How do I update my Fitbit device?

Let me know how it goes!

Thank you! It worked!! Smiley Very Happy

Now I'm worried about the battery, 'cause it's already at 55% and it hasn't been 24 hours since the initial charge. Maybe trying to update the firmware so many times is the cause for that.

I'll wait for the next charge and I'll monitor the battery behavior.

I'll let you know is something is wrong after that.

Thank you, again 🙂

Sounds great that the Firmware of your Charge 2 was successfully completed @Miriamele. Yes, keep an eye on the battery draining now that it is updated and let me know how long is it lasting. 😉

I'll be around!

Hi again!

After several charging cycles to check the battery normal behavior, I can say this replacement has the same defect than the old fitbit when it started to fail.

The battery lasts 2 days, without excesive training or use. I'm not even checking what time is it on the fitbit, so the screen is barely activated.

I don't understand what is happening. The old one, before it started failing, lasted 4 days with much more training... And this replacement is a week old...

Thanks in advance for you help

Thanks for the update @Miriamele! Sounds bad that the battery of the Charge 2 that you received as a replacement, isn't lasting as expected. In this case, I'd suggest you to contact our Support team directly and let them know about this, so they can further assist you.

Let me know the outcome!
