I feel the need add one warning found in this doc http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1623
If your Fitbit is currently connected to the phone, then the iPad might not be able to comunicate.. Either move at least 30 feet from the phone, turn off the phones BT, or simply let the phone do the sync. Now you can access the data through the iPad, no need to sync, since the phone just did.

@Mike2e Welcome to our Community! Another thing to add besides the bluetooth interference between devices that @Rich_Laue explain is that if you enabled notifications (for example on your iPhone) then you create a bond between the phone and the tracker and this will prevent it from syncing with other devices like your iPad. If you don't enable this feature then you shouldn't have any problem syncing with either of the devices you listed.

Let me know how it goes!

I am having trouble syncing to both, seems like one or the other only!

Best Answer

While you can sync through both, your Fitbit, like most Bluetooth devices can only connect to one device at a time.

Therefore if both the iPad and phone are within say 100 feet, your Fitbit most likely is connected to the unit it last synced through. The other device, phone or tablet, won't be able to break into the connection.

Turning off the one Bluetooth will let the other device sync.

This is explained in the post above yours @Packergirl

@AlvaroFitbit, @WendyB and I have explained the problem and the work around.

Simply rotten the bluetooth of on the device that you dont want to sync through.

This Issa needed because of the way bluetooth works ans is beyond the control of fitbit.

FYI: if the tracker recently synced through one device, the data Issa accessible to the other device without an additional sync. Both apps on both devices display the data from thre cloud services, not directly from the tracker.

If the app on the iPhone stopped syncing.

Make sure that the iPad is off or at least its BT. A BT device can only talk to BT host at a time.

Now we have a sync issue.

Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

Try these troubleshooting steps if your device is not syncing
