Can you turn off the auto light at night when you're in bed?

Every night when I go to sleep, my Fitbit Charge 2 lights up when I move my wrist in a position that it interprets as me lifting my wrist to check the time or my steps.  This glowing light in turn wakes up my wife and makes sleep difficult for the both of us.  Is it possible to turn off this feature at night so it won't light up during a predefined period each day?  Otherwise, I might be forced to stop wearing it each night when I sleep which defeats the purpose of tracking my sleep patterns.  Thak you in advance for your help.

This should really be an option in ‘customize display’ allowing you to turn it on and off from your wrist by selecting the option and holding the button for a couple of seconds. Like you can do to enable/disable notifications. Having to do it from the app, and then re-syncing the device is long winded.

Great solution.

Hi was just wondering how you got on with the auto light being able to turn off at set hours ? I’ve got to the point where I just take it off every night as it wakes me up when it lights up ?

No good stalking all. It’s a case of opening the app and selecting on and off each evening and morning. Pretty poor for 2018.

It’s a joke, was going to buy a ionic soon but I might rethink as can’t sleep with it on as it’s blinding on a night time when it’s next to your face, anyone know a better option of fitness tracker ?

On the Ionic the user would hold in the left button to get to the quick settings and disable quick view.

Unfortunately I didn’t. I turned off the lift to view feature so now I have to push the button to see my steps😕. When this Fitbit dies, I won’t be buying another since they won’t add a simple feature to it.

Would be so simple to add a time schedule for the light !!!

Haven't tried the suggested approach, but fundamentally do not want to add yet another "must do" tweak to the already long list of high tech adjustments - logins; passwords; updates, etc. - with which we must all cope. When my current Fitbit dies (which it will, do doubt as I approach the one year anniversary!), I will look for an alternative fitness tracker.  The default should be that is "feature" is de-activated unless you affirmatively turn it on.  Poor design.

The Quick View feature is the feature that turns the display on when the arm is rotated. So yes with this option off, then a double tap or a press of the button will be needed.

There should be a setting within the app that allows this to be auto disabled. Like scheduled do not disturb on the iPhone. Basic function really.

Like many others, I have quickview off (and have turned it on and then off to see the difference), and with it off when I roll from side to side in the middle of the night it still lights up. Which is weird, I can shake my wrist vigorously during the day and it doesn't light up, only when I have been sleeping and it first feels slight movement. I would be happy to set it to 100% need to touch button to display time or steps. That would be worth it not to have it shine really bright in the middle of the night.

Any help here? Particularly that doesn't involve taping over the face screen or wearing a wrap around the whole thing. 85% of the reason I own this is as a sleep monitor, and it breaks my depth of sleep with the light up which is sometimes right in my face.

Thanks!

Um...where is tracker settings? Not a user friendly set of menus...

I had to go to the Fitbit help docs to check before I answered

From the dashboard tap/click on the icon of the charge 2, then tap quick view

I have exactly the same problem.  Can’t seem to master the ‘not waking me up at night’ even with quick view permanently off. My wife hates the **ahem** thing. So do I. So silly this hasn’t been sorted out. They’ve lost another future customer.

My ‘quick view’ setting is permanently off and still this happens. Can you explain why? Other people seem to have the same problem. Seems crazy. My Fitbit is ruining my sleep.

No wonder their stock is 1/8 of it's value from four years ago.

I gave up on their product because of this. Seems surreal they won't add a "button must be physically pushed to turn on the screen" option, so people are not annoyed by a screen coming on all the time at night.

If your quick view is off, so you see the screen turn on when the arm is lifted and rotated?
