Does anyone know whether you can use a Fitbit if you have a VNS implant {vagus nerve stimulator}?

@worrier Welcome! It's nice to have you on board! The best thing you can do in this situation is asking this to your doctor so he/she knows that you are wearing a heart rate sensor on your wrist along with your VNS implant. It is better to have an opinion of an expert than someone posting on a forum as it is your health that is being discussed.
Please do let me know what your doctor tells you, I look forward to your reply!

I am an epileptic with the VNS implant. The VNS has been a huge life savor for me and controlled my seizures significantly! I then got a FitBit and within a couple of days, I was having seizures on a consistent basis again. We did not put two and two together regarding VNS and FitBit until I stopped wearing the FitBit and I have not had a seizure since.
As an epileptic w/the VNS, I am not in the medical field but I do not suggest using it.

Thank you for getting in touch. I am glad you put two and two together and are back on track. I was assured by 2 epilepsy nurses that it is okay to wear a Fitbit with a VNS but doctors used to recommend smoking to relieve stress and stout to pregnant women!
