Hi there,
I have noticed that there are differences in the categories in heart rate zones between the output that I get when I extract my data as an excel file and when I look at heart rate categories in my dashboard on my app.
In the excel file, I find the categories for light, moderate and vigorous intensity.
In the dashboard of the app, I find fatburn, cardio, and peak zone.
Are these practically the same? I guess they cannot be, because the number of minutes in each category differ. For example, I find different numbers of activity for light activity (excel file) and fatburn activity (dashboard).
I know that the categories in the dashboard are based on the different heart rate zones, as explained on the website. Is this the only base, or does the algorithm also include more info? (to my knowledge not necessary)
How about the categories form the excel file output that I get when I extract the data? What are they based on?
I would be very very grateful if anyone who knows answers on this could help me out!
Thanks in advance!
Best wishes
NOemi

@noemi100886 Welcome! It's great to see you around!
Thank you for your inquiry and I apologize for the delay in my reply. I think you are seeing two different metrics. The first one sounds as the type of active minutes your tracker has detected that will be presented as light, moderate and vigorous intensity. You can read more about active minutes here.
The other is regarding your heart rate zones that you can read more about here.
You can read more about data export here.
Let me know how it goes.

HI Alvaro,
thank you very much for your response.
Can you please let me know if I got this correctly?
Is it correct that the active minutes in a Charge 2 device are based on METs? So, is it then the accelerometer in the device that decides per counts per minutes if the activity is 3METs or higher?
Or is it the heart rate that determines how intense the active minutes are?
With other words, what elements of the algorithm (METs as measured as accelerations in the accelerometer, or minutes spent in a certain heart rate, etc) is the concent 'active minutes' based on, please?
The data output that I receive in the excel file, with the minutes spent in light, moderate and vigorous activity, are they only referring to the active minutes then?
In which part of the excel file will be reported then in which heart rate zones I was active?
I would be very happy if you could clarify my questions. Thanks very much in advance!
Thanks in advance,
Noemi
