Changing weight goal start date

I started my weight goal on 22 Jan 2019 and recently accidentally restarted a new goal which resulted in the start date to be changed to Feb instead.

I've scoured through the forum for advice but all have not worked for me.

I've tried changing the start date on my android app via Settings > Nutrition and Body > Start Date and also Starting Weight. It just reverts back to the newer date.

I've tried changing it on the webpage via dashboard > Food > Plan Summary > Edit Plan

But the save button just wouldn't work. Clicked and nothing happened.

What else i did:

- Changed daily calories estimate setting to Personalized

- Cleared cache for browser (chrome)

- Tried a different browser (firefox, which is worse as when i clicked Edit Plan, the pop up screen as attached above wouldn't even appear) and also chrome browser on my mobile

- Disabled chrome's extension, unblocked adobe flash  or any ad blockers

It is simply not working.. Is there any way around this??

I figured it out.  I did this on my iphone.

Select the little credit card looking icon in the upper right hand corner >Nutrition & Body

Under weight, you see Your Goal, Goal Weight, Start Date, Starting Weight.

To get it to work you have to edit the Start Weight to what it was on the date that you want to use as the Start Date.  Then you can change the Start Date.

The only glitch that I can't figure out is that the App will change the Start Date to the most recent date with your Start Weight.  Example:  I want my start date to be 1/1/2019. My weight that day was 170.  My weight on 1/20/2019 was also 170, so that app automatically sets my start date at 1/20/2019 even thought I want it at 1/1/2019.

@chower Welcome! It's great to see you around! Sorry to hear that you can't change your weight goal start date and thank you for troubleshooting this before. On the app try logging out, restart your phone and log back in. The retry changing this. If this doesn't work then try a computer and use the two browsers you mentioned, you might need to clear cache and cookies. You could also try making the changes on an iOS device if you have access to one.

Let me know how it goes!

I've tried your methods but still won't change. I had tried to delete the starting logged date then input the starting date and it won't work.

But one thing did finally make it change though. If i changed to a starting date to a date before i started logging any weight eg Dec 2018, it logs it. I'm not sure why but at least it changed and im not touching it any more. It's definitely a bug that you guys need to sort out considering so many people have complained about.

OMG!! Thank you for this!! I was just on a chat with a customer service person forever and she didn't know how to do this. It was driving me nuts!! I found that, but the key is that you need to change the weight to the starting weight....Thank you! That was driving me totally nuts. Fitbit, you really need to change this to make it easier!

Likewise, thank you.  What a stupid design.  The behaviour of this part of the app needs an overhaul - it should automatically detect the weight that was logged closest to the revised start date the user selects.  Also, the option to edit the start date should be part of the edit goal functionality in the weight screen, not buried in settings.

The target also doesn't appear to account for ounces - which is bizarre given you can include ounces when logging your weight.  Not a biggie, but it means I'm showing a weight loss that I technically have yet to reach, albeit by 8 ounces.
