Welcome to the Fitbit Community @DicoBit! Thanks for already troubleshooting this inconvenience, nice way to go my friend!

Since the green lights on the back are still flashing and you already charged your device, please confirm to me if you restarted your device by following these steps:

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port.
  3. Make sure the button on your tracker is aligned with the button opening on the charging cable. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display. Your Charge 2 will begin charging.
  4. Press and hold the button on your tracker for four seconds. When you see the Fitbit logo and the tracker vibrates, this means the tracker has restarted.
  5. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

If the restart doesn't work, let go back to the charging process by checking if the contacts on your tracker or charging cable are not dirty? Dust and debris can accumulate over time and prevent a charge. Try cleaning them by following these instructions.

I wonder, where do you charge your tracker? Have you checked if by any chance the USB port or outlet is faulty? If you haven't done so, try a different port. A UL-certified wall charger will also work. Don't use a USB hub.

check the alignment and try reconnecting your tracker to the charging cable. See my image below:

I have tried everything you mentioned and no luck. It’s literally like the screen died or stopped working. It charges, alarm works and it vibrates. Just nothing shows on screen.

This happened to me this morning. I was checking a text notification on my Fitbit and all of a sudden the screen went all "snowy" and then it went black and won't respond. The green lights are still on and it vibrates and everything, but the screen does not work. I've tried resetting several times, and after about the 5th time it shows the battery symbol but it's "glitchy" and that's all that shows whenever I push the button on the side.

Well I never fixed or figured out the problem. I did get a new one sent.

I've done everything you have suggested and more and still have this problem. Fitbit programmed to android phone and it still records everything. Showing fully charged.

Just had this happen as well. Screen showed some.visual glitches 2 nights ago (dimmed pixels, banding) and would be normal after a reset/restart while connected by USB. As soon as the Charge 2 was.on my wrist, the screen would blank and stay blank. I cleaned the contacts and used 2 different USB ports on 2 different workstations to confirm the cable and USB ports were bot the issue.

This morning, the screen stayed blank after restarting - the charge 2 vibrated as normal during restart (holding down the button while connected to a pc via charging cable) but the Fitbit logo and firmware version did not display.

The green heart monitor lights are active, as are the alarms. The screen is the only thing not working. Are Charge 2's even repairable?

My unit was doing the same thing. It too vibrates and syncs, but the screen is just black. I did try resetting it but no help.

I too have this problem,  no display and constant flashing green lights, when I try the charge restart I get faint lines on the screen but nothing else,  can you help please?

I just experienced the same issue. How do you get a replacement?

Best Answer

Well, my Fitbit has gone progressively blank.  The text faded in areas and has now completely disappeared.  The device records and forwards data to my iPhone and app etc. but I have little clue what it indicates when it vibrates.

Kind of frustrating.

I contacted Fitbit and they said because I was out of warranty, the only thing they could do was give me a 20% discount on a new fit bit. They didn't acknowledge that this is a know problem that keeps happening to people, or offer an explanation of why it is occurring, nor did they advise if there was a way to correct it. I can only surmise that it is a design/reliability issue, or planned obsolescence (they are only built to last a certain period of time) in order to make you buy a new one.

My Fitbit charge hr 2 is doing this same thing also. I’ve tried everything. It won’t seem to sync to my iPhone or computer. I found this link and tried it. It’s fully charged but on my laptop it says “synced oct 15, 2018 12:38 pm” and has a battery with a red X on it. Then it shows “looking for tracker...” I cannot figure out what’s going on with it. I’ve always taken great care of it and it’s frustrating that I can’t figure out what’s going on. I hope someone can help!! Thanks!!

I ha e had my charge 2 for over 2 years and one day my Fitbit vibrated for no reason then displayed wiggle lines.  It recorded everything fine on my phone app so I kept wearing.  Display useless for @ 2 weeks then suddenly yeasteday it vibrated again and everything is perfect.  It goes into the different displays and back to normal.  Weird so maybe everyone else’s may do the same.

Over the last 30 days the face has been fading to black and now totally unreadable....so much for using it as a watch...it still gives me all the other data.  It makes me wonder if the data is correct.

I will have had this unit for 2 years come January 2019.  I would hope for the $$$$ spent on this technology that it would not be obsolete so quickly...
