I am having the same problem with my Charge 2.  The first time Fitbit sent me a new Charge 2 because it happened after 8 months.  This time it has been 21 months before it went black.  Fitbit offered me a discount the second time.  I love the Charge 2, but the poor quality doesn't seem to be worth the price.  I'm going to try a different product and see if it is more durable.

I’ve had the same problem for the last few days. It went from a frozen screen to no display at all. I’ve restarted, charged it, etc. it’s syncing to the app, but it’s like the display is broken.

I haven't heard of a fix for anyone yet with this problem. I chatted with
customer service on the fitbit website and they gave me a discount on a new
charge 3 or Ionic. I got the Ionic. Yesterday I noticed Sam's Club has
about the same discount for a charge 3 but includes an extra band.

Contact customer service if you haven’t yet. They were really helpful.

I've had the same issue, I've tried restarting it to no avail. Tried cleaning it to no avail. Chatted with Customer Service to no avail. My fitbit Charge 2 still tracks and charges but the screen remains black.  I've even tried the factory restart, to no avail.  I love my fitbit and just want it to work again!!!  Can anyone help?

Standard practice seems to be 25% off on a new FitBit. It does not appear
fixable after you have tried the suggested remedies. Customer service folks
were helpful but we ended up with the 25% off a new one solution.

I'm afraid I had to give up. not able to revive the Charge 2. I was advice
to find a replacement. I went for Charge 3 and still struggling to learn
how to use the features. I went to a store to get my Charge 3 but you can
try to go to fitbit website and they may offer you a discount on your new
fitbit. Some people managed it but I was told I was not eligible for a
discount. Someone else went for the Ionic. Check them out. Follow
instructions on replacement and you will not lose your history log. Good
luck!

They offered me a replacement Charge 2 or a discount towards another product. I selected the replacement. Hopefully I will not have the same issue with the new one.

Hello guys, it's a pleasure to continue providing assistance with the difficulties experienced with your Charge 2 devices, my apologies for the delay in responding. Welcome to the Community Forums @LisaX @Glendo @pattman64 @Amp89 @Deputydawg0 @Mkmills2 @Chrisara. Nice to see you again participating  @CNNeo @FishnDan @Toureurope @Gene83 @SammyK26 @Zeulo @Geoff4627.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences with your Fitbit devices, I'm sorry to know that such difficulties are being experienced with our Charge 2 device. If you haven't already done so, I recommend our restart process following the next steps:

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port.
  3. Make sure the button on your tracker is aligned with the button opening on the charging cable. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display.
  4. Press and hold the button to restart your tracker:
    • For Charge 2—press and hold the button on your tracker for 4 seconds. When you see the Fitbit logo and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.
  5. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

If by any chance this procedure doesn't resolve this situation, I recommend you guys to get in touch with our Customer Support team to receive further assistance directly with them. Take in consideration that they refer to our warranty policies when it comes to any warranty-related procedure, therefore, I recommend to check our policies here. Thanks for the feedback that was provided.

I'll be around if any  of you have additional questions.

I assume it is out of warranty. Only options I know are to chat with
customer service on their website, they may offer you a discount, or check
out the FitBits at SAM's Club. The discounts are about the same but you
may like the wrist band selection at SAM's better. The battery on my
wife's Charge 2 dies after 2 hours on a full charge. She likes the SAM's
option for a similar price as they offered me when mine quit.

Thank you I did contact customer service and they refuse to offer a discount. I went to a store to purchase a charge 3. Fortunately they gave a store discount.

Just recently my Fitbit Charge HR 2 stopped working, the green lights are on and the button fully responds but screen does not work.

I have attached the device to a genuine Fitbit charger and then pressed the button for 4 & 8 seconds with the device clearly restarting however screen does not turn on.

Any chance you could assist with a support case?

let ne guess; your fitbit is 2- 2/12 years old? its seems to be when it normally happens. there is nothing you can do. if u call fitbit they will say that its pass the warranty (1 year) and give u 25% off on their webpage which is 25% higher than other stores. I loved my fitbit but the fact that they know about the issues and do nothing to fix it made me go to garmin vivoactive 3. good luck!

I too have experienced this problem. The unit will charge, it will vibrate, and the green lights are flashing. How do I get this unit fixed? Do I send it in or is there any type of replacement process?

My charge 2 the screen has been getting dimmer over the last few days.. Now I can only see it in a dark room, and even then it is very dim.. Did many restarts no help...  Seems to be a very common problem..

All I can say is I opened a chat on their web page and discussed my problem
with them and they sent me a discount on purchase of a new device because
mine was out of warranty. It seems not everyone gets this and could be
dependent upon how far out of warranty it is. I don't think they know how
many I have purchased for my family. My wife's charge 2 battery only lasts
a few hours after a full charge. She plans to buy a new one at SAM's
because their current price is about the same as the discount they give for
a new charge 3. I don't think it is economically feasible to do a repair
on items like this.

My charge 2 screen has also stopped working.  It started by black lines appearing on the screen where the display used to be read fully.

I put it on my supplied Fitbit charger, it vibrated and showed charging.  I let it charge and now it is totally black/blank.  It vibrates, green lights on the back are working.
