This happened to my Fitbit Charge2 last night. I have followed all the advice but the screen is still blank with green lights flashing. This is obviously a known fault as it’s affecting so many Fitbits. I would expect the company to replace them free of charge as it is obviously a faulty product

Came to this forum due to the same issue.  Bought a 2 year warranty- but I’m at 2.4 years.   So sad no fix.  Love my Fitbit.  Thought I’d post issue though as this seems to be a common problem.

I’m also having the same problem...I have read a few these posts and it seems like a common fault, more so on warranty ending. Do these have very short life span?.. I love the watch, the scales etc....”What’s the solutions”

hopefully not a different brand...

Just got off the phone with Fitbit for the same problem on a less than 2 years old Charge - like a lot of others offered a measly 25% discount and given a hard sell to buy a new one.  I find it interesting that it happened just after an update and seems to be happening to most of us within a certain life span range.  Don't believe I will be doing business with this company anymore.

Sadly what you have told me to did not work. When I restarted it did eveything it was supposed to so but nothing changed. I tried to clean it but that didn't work.  Is there any way to fix this?

The most frustrating thing is, I’m enjoying this product and it’s currently working behind the blank/black screen. If it wasn’t for the black screen, this fitbit would be working. But as predicted, Fitbit doesn’t seem to care that most of there range is doing it and around the 2 year mark or mysteriously at the end of the warranty period. Or as an excuse for Fitbit, after an update.

Talk about the feeling of a conspiracy to get clients to continue repurchasing every 2 years.

So today......I’ve decided to ditch Fitbit totally.....what’s everyone’s recommendation for another company. P.S. Fitbit....I think you’ll hear from us all with assistance soon.

I’ve seem to have the same issue. I was using my Fitbit yesterday and all of sudden the screen froze as in the time was wrong and then went black. Now the light are still working and it’s sync’s up to the app, but the restarting doesn’t work. Any help?

Nope. From all reports it is dead now. Call then if under warranty. If not they will offer a 25% discount.

None that I have heard. I chatted with FitBit on their website and was
given a nice discount on a new FitBit. I went with the Ionic and really
like it. I think the problem with mine was moisture. I swet and wear long
sleeves. I think this caused water to enter it. It still worked except
for the blank screen.

Hello! I’ve been having the same black screen issue. I feel it vibrating on troubleshooting but still no luck on any images on the screen. Please advise.

Look closely at the screen. Is there a lighter or gray square in the
center of it? I think this is moisture that shorted out the screen. Might
try putting in rice or a warm place but that didn't work for me either. If
it is out of warranty go to their website and start a chat with a
representative they may give you an option to purchase a new FitBit at a
discount. I bought an Ionic after 3 previous charge versions and I think
it will last much longer than previous versions. My wife, daughter and
granddaughter have had better luck than me with their FItBits but they
don't swet like I do so I expect the water resistance of my Ionic will be a
big help.

Thank you, mine is a hand-me-down from my mom. I’ll have to see if it’s out of warranty or if I can do the swap like you suggested! I appreciate your help!!
