Charge 2 screen went black. The green lights on still. I tried charging, restarting but no luck. It vibrates and shows working on app. Any ideas???

Hi! I'm having the same issue. Charges fine, records steps, alarms vibrate, but the screen went blank. It's really frustrating. Three days ago the screen went blank, then reversed (ALL text backwards). The reset 3 times while charging made it the screen work for about 2, maybe 3 hours then it went blank again. Redoing the reset 3 times did not help.

Can you help?

Thanks,

Julie

I know of nothing other than what you have done to see if it will still
work. I went to their website and chatted with an employee who was able to
give me a discount for a new FitBit. I bought an Ionic which is great so
far.

Yup. I got the discount as well. Glad to hear you like the Ionic. I'm a bit torn on what device to get, if any! At least the thing I have still records data. Maybe I'll like being surprised at the end of the day when I check the app.

I like the Ionic's built in GPS and looking at my course data on my PC
after uploading its data. I also like the various watch faces and water
resistance.

I'm having the same issue.  I tried troubleshooting all of the things listed in this thread, to no avail.  The screen will turn on and flicker the firmware, and then I get about 1/2 of the screen showing the display and then back to black and nothing that I do causes the screen to turn on.  The Fitbit does still charge, sync, and function through my phone app.

I'm a bit disappointed that this seems to be a pretty common problem with no real solution.  My Charge 2 is less than 2 years old, and if that is the expected life for these devices I might as well get another brand for half of the price.

Help!

I agree, switch to another brand. The end of life seems consistent and, um, well, coordinated? Too many people having the same issue & the only help you get is a 25% discount on a model you don't want. Guess they learned the trick from Apple! Haha!Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

I guess I'm just not seeing where the issue is going to be resolved.  From the thread, it looks like the best you guys have done is offer 25% off of a new Fitbit for a unit that broke in under two years?

I mean.... What is the point?   Hey, our product broke, but here's a discount on buying another one that will break, too?

This just happened to me yesterday!  According to my app it's charging but just the screen is not working. I have tried all your suggestions but not even a flicker has shown up.  It's about 1 year old.  If I contact customer support, could they help me or get a replacement?

I understand how you feel about this, but after a chat with Fitbit on their
website they gave me a discount on a new version. I got the Ionic because
I am still using an iPhone 4 and the Ionic has its own GPS. I use an air
pad to run the app for it. Keep in mind the newer FitBits are water
resistant to 50M. I think the problem with mine was water vapor
condensation inside so I have big hopes for my latest version. Give them a
web chat before making a decision. Four other family members have had no
problem with their charge 2 so far but they don't perspire like I do.

My fit bit is also doing the same thing, light blinking continuously but nothing coming up on the screen, vibrates when on charge but nothing else

There seems to be no fix for this. I suspect it is something going wrong
with the screen connections not the software. In my case I think it was
water vapor condensing inside shorting out the wires. It will probably
continue to work without the screen but if you are out of warranty go to
the fitbit web site and start a chat with them about it. You might get a
discount on a replacement that is water resistant. I used this to upgrade
to an Ionic.

If you've done a full reset three times in a row and it still happens your kind of doomed unless it's under warranty. They'll only give a slight discount for two models that are new but not similar.Personally, I finally switched. My Samsung Fit2 Pro cost more but does everything I want. It can measure how far I swim. Sooo happy I switched!!Good luck!Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

I am guessing you are out of warranty. The only option I know is go to the
FitBit website and start a chat with a service rep. Let them know what you
have done to reset your FitBit. If possible they will send you an email
with a limited time discount on any of their current products. I upgraded
to an Ionic which was a good choice for me. If you read some of my
previous posts I believe my charge 2 had water vapor condense inside and
short out the screen connections. New FitBits are water resistant. At the
very least, your current FitBit may continue to work with the app, just no
screen.
