Charge 2 screen went black. The green lights on still. I tried charging, restarting but no luck. It vibrates and shows working on app. Any ideas???

Other than my experience with customer service any thing I say is pure
speculation on my part. Fitbit was great on offering me a discount when my
Charge 2 died after warranty. Some people don't think that is enough and
are still angry. I used a credit card to buy my Ionic that adds a year to
the warranty so I am good for awhile.

I talked to my daughter who is on her second apple watch. Nothing from
apple after warranty expires so don't know why people are so upset with
FitBit. I can't come up with anyone that has treated me as well after
warranty expired. So for those upset with me for saying this please let me
know of a company that does other than some products that last much
longer. I found a bill for our fridge. It was bought in 1992 and still
works great, even the automatic ice maker. 🙂

Thanks, I think I'm going to have to as well.  Going to contact the company  first and see what they can do, if anything.

Only option I know is to go to their website and start a chat with customer
service on what to do.

Mine is doing the exact same thing.

I emailed support, opened a case on 2nd July. Sent uupdates but i have heard nothing from Fitbit. This is so frustrating!!

What can i do to fix it? Resetting isn't doing anything. It's still working on the app, alarms all still work, just no screen.

I need a watch that can tell me the time, this is so annoying

Regards

Lisa

Customer service did reply to me but was unable to find me a solution. I am out of warranty and have been asked to find my own replacement. The closes to charge 2 is charge 3. You will not lose your history log if you took specific steps for replacement to your existing account. Have yet to do this. Lost my email exchanges and still hunting for the steps to do this.

I recommend using the chat feature on their web site. I haven't tried
contact by email. If you tried contacting them this week it could be the
holiday has slowed their ability to respond. Many people take vacation
this week. In any case, I recommend using the chat feature since that is
what worked for me.

As an aside, I've heard so many people use their phones for time they don't
want or need or want a watch, but myself growing up with wrist watches I
can't imagine doing that. I enjoy the face options I have on my ionic.
Guess I'm not the only one. I hope you get a satisfactory solution.

I see this post is quite old but I've just had the same problem. Blank screen however green light showing at the back but with bo vibration when plugged into charger. Prior to this my fitbit starting repeatedly saying notification on/off and seemed to be stuck. I managed to do a reset but it did it again before the screen going blank and have had nothing ever since. Any ideas?

No success after getting in touch with customer service. They could not
help. I was out of warranty and they would not offer me any discounts for
replacement. Had to replace with Charge 3 but am currently struggling to
get used to it. am not able to register time daily spent on physio
excercise as previously. looking for solution.
Consider replacement with Charge 3 or Ionic or Versa. Good luck with your
choice.

I tried everything and came to the conclusion that fitbit WANTS you to buy a new one every 2 years as they are aware of this very common problem but don’t do anything about it... except to give you 25% off on your next buy... on their page where the prices are higher than at other stores. My plan is now to get a garmin.

same issue started for me over this weekend sometime. Last known to show "on screen alerts" Friday 5:25 pm

currently:

1. blank / black screen on FitBit Charge 2

2. Charge 2 fully charged (according to FitBit app on phone)

3. green lights on Charge 2

4. still vibrates for alerts

5. Have tried the fix mentioned (connect to charger. Hold button for 4 seconds while charging) I did NOT see the logo and when disconnected no change in screen

6. I have 2 different chargers (one at work and one at home) and have tried the reported fix on both chargers

My Charge 2 did the same thing... 3 weeks ago it was really faded but I could see it in at night. Then 2 days later, it went complete out. It’s been reset and it still collects data. I’ve only had it for 11 months.

Any additional word on this? Mine is exhibiting the same behavior as of ~3 days ago, and I have been following this thread.

It's completely dead now. Managed to get 25% off next purchase via online chat on fitbit website as I'm out of warranty now. Not overly happy but I did wear it every day for 2 1/2 years.
