Fitbit Update: 8/14
Hey all!
Today we have completely released (out to 100%) this new Charge 2 firmware (22.58.0) to all users. This means everyone should now see it available for download in the Fitbit app. Please update to this new firmware. For instructions on how to complete the update, read How do I update my Fitbit device?
If you come across any difficulty updating, read Why can't I update my Fitbit device?
We've included bug fixes and improvements in this new firmware and always recommend having your tracker up to date, including the Fitbit app on the latest app version.
Fitbit Update: 7/24
Hi everyone,
We’re excited to announce a new firmware update for Charge 2 (version: 22.58.0).
We've begun releasing this new firmware to customers. This is a progressive rollout which means everyone will receive it at different stages until it has been completely released to all users. We roll out releases in phases as a cautionary measure so that we can monitor performance closely and make adjustments if needed.
*Firmware releases are not distributed based on region or location and can reach anyone no matter where you reside. We do not recommend performing a factory reset to force the update to your device as your data will be lost and you may not get the update. Please be patient and wait until you see the update banner inside of the Fitbit app to begin the firmware download.
WHAT’S NEW AND FIXED
This release includes other bug fixes and improvements.
HOW DO I UPDATE?
Step by step instructions for updating your Charge 2 can be found here.
If you run into any trouble updating your Charge 2, I recommend reviewing these troubleshooting tips.
Looking forward to hearing everyone's feedback on the latest release. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know!

I received the request to upgrade my firmware last night, there was plenty of battery life on my Charge 2 and the request stated that it would take about 10 minutes so I went ahead.
The firmware seemed to install Ok.
This morning I checked my sleep record (It's the reason I bought the Charge2). The 2 hours sleep I had prior to the update was missing and the 4.5 hours sleep after the update was recorded but wasn't showing the sleep stages correctly. Hopefully this will rectify itself @AlessFitbit .
Exercises that I have done at the gym today have recorded OK and my heart rate graphs are displaying OK.
I have to agree with other posters that Fitbit discount offers are not very good or helpful

Today i got the firmware update option. I'm trying to finish the update, for the last 3 hours. But nothing
And now the device bluetooth isn't working, at all. Turn down my phone (hoping that the problem was my phone and not the fitbit) and try to update it using the pc app, and it says that my device isn't reachable.
Now not sincronice anything!

I had the exact same problem. If my "Walk" was initiated from the app on my phone, the HR data wouldn't be captured in the summary. If initiated from my Charge 2, then it would, and while the map of the walk would be captured and synced from my phone, I wouldn't get the 1/2 mile pace updates in my head phones. I was going to try initiating from both for giggles....

I got the notification of the update today, and suffice it to say, I guess I will not be updating my firmware. Mine works fine still and based on these comments (thank you, all), I will not be going through with this update.

My Charge 2 stopped syncing on 7/23, which is apparently when the Android application updated.
I unpaired the Charge 2, but it won't pair again. The screen lights, and it finds the Charge 2. But, after I enter the number, it can't communicate.
I've tried resetting the Charge 2, but that doesn't help.
Is this firmware release likely to fix the problem?

Last nights sleep record was showing sleep stages so it looks like the update has worked OK for me. @AlessFitbit

Since this, my Fitbit charge 2 will not hold its charge. It says 100% and then after half hour it’s dead!

My fit bit 2 is 1 1/2 yr old. has stopped telling me I have a text or phone call since upgrade to Samsung A70. trying the firmware update. so far spent nearly four hours watching paint dry. it keeps failing. the red marker never moves. have restarted both phone and fitbit makes no difference getting fed up.

Since the upgrade, the watch wont sync. The new screen layout is also tedious. After reading all the comments below, I see it is a supplier issue and not a user issue.
Looks like my watch is going to need a hard shut down. A 2 pound mallet shut down.

It is dead. Have to buy a new one. Customer service was not able to help. Fitbit you are going to loose a lot of customers if you do not get these issues fixed.

Hello everyone! It's a pleasure for me to continue providing assistance with your concerns, I'd like to apologize for the delay in responding your posts.
@PlinaE I'm sorry to know that you're experiencing difficulties with the firmware update procedure. If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check: How do I update my Fitbit device? for more information and to verify that all the requirements to initiate the firmware update are meet. Then, you can move forward to the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: Why can't I update my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes. Same for you @peter.s and @julesjmj, please take in consideration the previous information and keep me posted.
@SunsetRunner @morana09 Let me share that our Charge 2 battery life was designed to last up to 5 days, however, the battery life also depends on how frequently you use it’s features. That said, please check: Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life? and let me know how it goes..
@MrsColey79 I apologize for the inconvenience you're experiencing with your Charge 2 that's unresponsive. To better assist you with this, can you please let me know if the heart rate sensors are flashing or is your device completely unresponsive? If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check our help article: Why isn't my battery charging on my Fitbit device? and let me know how it goes. Such article includes a restart process which can be really helpful for this situation.
@LianneSimon If your Fitbit device is not syncing after the firmware update was completed, if you haven't already done so, I recommend you to check how the syncing procedure works here and see if there's a missing requirement on your mobile device that's preventing the syncing procedure to be completed. Also, you can move forward to the troubleshooting steps that are specified on: Why won't my Fitbit device sync? and let me know how it goes. Same for you @Justmeemtasol.
@Pilatesworks If you're not receiving notifications on your Charge 2, please check: How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device? to verify that all the settings in order to receive notifications are correctly configured. You can move forward to: My Fitbit device isn't receiving notifications from my phone after taking in consideration the previous.
