Charge 2 - Fitibit map not showing

I have just bought a new Fitbit Charge 4. However the maps are STILL NOT SHOWING. I previously had a Fitbit Charge 3 and the maps also gave up showing over the past few months. I also don't see on the new Fitbit watch where I can change the activity to hike - it does NOT give me the option. And when I tried to  find it on the app, it changed 10 minutes of the previous activity to hike???? Please help here - I am so done with this nonsense!?!?!?!?

Hi @melodieh . Thank you for your message and efforts. 

Please keep in mind that the Charge 4 is a bit different as the Charge 3. 

With the Charge 3, you'd to use Connected GPS (GPS from your phone connected to your Charge 3) to record a map. 

The Charge 4 has different settings depending if you want to use Connected GPS, the integrated GPS or a dynamic between both of them.

Hello

I had a Charge 2 not Charge 3 - my mistake.
I have been using Fitbit for many years now and it was always so easy to
use. Setting a hike and seeing the maps, now I can't do either on the watch
or the app on my phone.

And yes, I have followed ALL your instructions, uninstalled the app,
restarted my phone, reinstalled the app, rebooted the watch - a
dozen times!!

And I work with technology - I am an IT Innovator at school, so I am not an
idiot when it comes to technology!


PLEASE PLEASE help me, I am seriously thinking of returning the watch and
getting a refund! This is totally bizarre and unacceptable!!

Could you verify if the map is shown on your online Dashboard? (fitbit.com)

How do you start your record? On the Fitbit app on the phone or on the tracker?

I always chose hike from my watch and stopped it on my watch. Now I don't
see hike on my watch anymore.
Do I have to start it on my phone app every time? That is bizarre
