Charge 2 GPS not tracking both in Bike and Run mode. Notification and Messages are not seen

Problem 1: I have a Vivo phone (model 1601, V5) Android 6 OS phone; Fit bit, Charge 2 - is not tracking my phone when i use it in bike mode and run mode. This makes me more frustrated and upset during my exercise after buying a expensive tracker. Also the stop watch has a option for only hike, run and walk to track the GPS in the mobile app. I don't know why not to have a bike in that too?

 

Problem 2: Also the notification menu and messages menu on the upper right side in the mobile app is not working from 2018 on wards. There is not much update in the tracker. I more worried for investing in fit bit, instead i would have invested it in apple or other brand trackers which does the same job in a economical cost with various other features.

 

Please help me out to overcome this issue at the earliest.

Let me help you with your Charge 2 not tracking your GPS data. According to the specifications Android 7 is required for the app to properly work as you can read here. Still you can try the following:

 

  1. Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  2. Restart your phone and restart your device
  3. Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  4. Also, on an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on. 
  5. You can find troubleshooting instructions here.

Regarding adding bike to the app options, you can share your idea in our Feature Suggestions board. Search for the idea first to see if one already exists so you can add your vote. The more votes an idea gets the more likely the developers will try to implement it. 

 

Regarding the messages this feature was discontinued so you won't see any updates for it.
