Charge 2 HR monitoring and green solid light

The HR readings on my charge 2 have been pretty erratic lately.  It is either displaying a very high HR, or not detecting a HR at all.  Ive also noticed the battery has been draining a bit quicker the last couple of weeks compared to normal - just thought maybe it was starting to come to the end of its life (had it 3.5 years now).  Last night however when i took it off to charge it, i noticed the green light on the back was solid and not flashing and very very bright!! Anyway, put it on charge, but when i took it off charge it was still a solid green.  Have tried restarting it, turning HR to off and syncing, back on and syncing, restarting again - nothing is working.   The battery is not down at 20% from being fully charged at 8.30 this morning, so its obviously this solid green light affecting it.  Anyone else had this issue and manage to resolve it? Or is it time for the charge 2 to enter fitbit heaven?!?! 😑

Hi, @Loon2020! Have you tried turning the heart rate monitoring off and back on again? I would also suggest trying to clean the monitor, just to make sure there isn't something interfering with it.

Hi, thank @MakMak  I have tried all of them and still the green light stays solid! I had to charge my Fitbit to use it for my workout today but going to let it die (just had the message to say battery is low again) and see if it completely drains and then try charging and restarting it. But I think it could be the end for it! 🤦🏼‍:female_sign:

That definitely sounds like a good plan. I would also suggest removing and re-adding it to your account, just to try. This will wipe some of the data and sometimes even triggers a firmware update. I would suggest this as a last resort, because sometimes people have issues with the pairing, which will lead you down a painful path. Good luck and let me know how it goes!

Thanks again @MakMak  I will try that if there's still no change once it recharges from empty.  It's only at 10% now so shouldn't be long until it goes off!!  Will keep you posted how it goes!!

So the Fitbit is 'dead' as in there is no longer anything displaying on the screen - not even the wee battery with the ! in it...but yep, the green light is still on and as bright as ever!!! wonder how long its going to take to shut off completely!?🙈

@MakMak so it finally died and green light went too.  Charged again and the green light is as it should be! However...its hardly reading HR now...every now and again it displays a reading for a minute or so then back to the two lines.  Have cleaned it, turned HR off and back on again, restarted it and still just randomly showing a HR reading 😑
