Since updating a few days ago to Android 11 on my Pixel 3a, my Charge 2 stopped fulling syncing and now won't connect at all to my phone.
I followed literally every trouble shooting step available and have spoken to tech support who were no help as the Pixel 3a is not 'officially' listed as a supported device. All this despite it working perfectly before the Android 11 OS update.
I disconnected the Charge 2 (after a reset) from the phone and re-installed the app but now cannot connect the device at all to my phone! I enter the 4 digit pin but it fails to connect every time.
Has anyone else had the same issue? I hope Fitbit release new firmware or a newer version of the Android app to fix this asap!
Not happy!

Same here, Pixel 3a, Android 11, Charge 2, latest app version. Can't even get it to pair using my Windows Laptop.

I bought a Charge 4 and it paired fine. Something with the app borked the Charge 2 which I can't pair to any other devices now.

Yep I'm having the same issue, I got in touch with Fitbit about it and they have sent me a replacement charge 2, and it still wont connect. Seems to be an issue with Android 11 then...

Yes, it is 100% an issue with Android 11. Does anyone know how we can contact the developers and let them know?

Ditto - just stopped synching Monday. Tried everything and now it chokes trying to pair. Put in the pin code and nothing. This is the only device I am having a problem with, the phone is paired with both our cars.

Exact same issue after I updated to Android 11 so maybe that's it! My Charge 2 also lost battery in a drawer for a few weeks during house move chaos so it is also now stuck on the wrong day and time without being able to sync, and therefore completely useless to me!

I'm experiencing the same issue. I feel so disappointed that this has apparently been going on for weeks and has not been addressed.

I also started seeing this issue. My charge 2 suddenly stopped syncing to my Pixel 3XL.I synced my charge 2 with older one plus phone and it started working with my Pixel 3XL but not sure how long will it keep working.
Is there any resolution for this yet?

Found a solution... Use an old phone to sync & update. I dug my old iPhone 6 out the drawer, it uses software 12.5.1 and I updated / synced it with that. It's now syncing fine with my pixel 3a.
Hope this works for you too. If you don't have an old phone borrow one from a friend.

Found this and it works -> Eventually, I enabled Developer Options, then changed Bluetooth AVRCP version from 1.5 (default) to 1.4. And then things came back to normal.
Check out the below step by step guide to turning on developer options Pixel 3a XL and Pixel 3a.
Step 1: Swipe up from the home screen to access the app drawer in Pixel 3a.
Step 2: Tap the Settings app.
Step 3: Scroll down up to end of the page and tap About phone.
Here you can see build number at the end of the page.
Step 4: Tap on Build number 7 times until seeing a message of “You are now a developer!” message.
Step 5: Tap the Back button.
Step 6: Tap System.
Step 7: Tap Advanced.
Step 8: Tap Developer options.
Here you can see bug report, desktop backup password, OEM unlocking, app ram usage & cached processes, automatic system updates, USB debugging, logger buffer size, feature flags, USB configuration, display cutout, standby apps, and more settings.
Step 9: Toggle on or off developer settings you want to use in your Google Pixel,

Anyone at FitBit if you can't be bothered to pay your developers to update
the firmware on the Charge 2 to be compatible with Android 11 - I won't
spend another penny on your products.
I'm done with you...

Thanks for the well written post bluejaguar, but it didn't work for me. I did notice that, in addition to changing the AVRCP version for BT, I could also change the MAP version for BT. Also, there is an option to enable Gabeldorsche (can't make that up 🙂 ). I tried every possible combination of the three. No luck.
It's frustrating because the phone and watch are clearly communicating: if you type in the 4digit code wrong, the watch offers up a different one so I can try again to type correctly. It surely doesn't seem like there is something wrong with the hardware.
I'm not replacing perfectly good stuff. Either it gets addressed or, more likely, I get on with fewer gadgets in my life. Maybe that's the healthiest option!
Peace all.

Yes. My charge 3 screen faded to the point where it's unusable the day after the warranty ran out. Resurrected my charge 2 only to discover that it won't pair with my Pixel. Feels like planned obsolescence to me.

As a last ditch effort I engaged in a chat with FitBit. They decided that with my Charge 2 and Pixel 2 running Android 11 all hope was lost. They offered a discount code, good for 30 days, on the purchase of a new tracker. Unimpressed, I tried Stenat84's advice. My wife offered her Samsung phone running Android 9 and I installed the fitbit app and installed my Charge 2. No problem. I even got an email congratulating me on earning a Shooting Star badge. I then opened the fitbit app on my Pixel 2 to see if Stenat84's prediction would hold and, no installing of the device required, it sync'd. For now it's working as it always did, we'll see.
