Hi,
My mother-in-law has a Samsung A8 and a Charge 2, they’ve been working fine together since she got the Fitbit in October 2018, but since a recent update of the Fitbit app (Apr/May 2019) it no longer syncs. We spent hours at the beginning of May troubleshooting the problem; quitting the app, restarting the Fitbit, restarting Bluetooth, restarting the phone, unpairing the Fitbit from the phone. It then took a very long time for the phone and Fitbit to pair up again, but finally it was working. Then now it’s back to not syncing at all! We don’t really want to spend hours trying to pair the devices together again and shouldn’t have to do this every 3 weeks! What’s going on?

@Asrd Welcome! It's great to see you around!
Let me help you with you mother-in-law's Charge 2 not syncing and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. Your phone doesn't show as compatible but that doesn’t mean it won’t work it just means that it hasn’t been tested by our team. You can try the following:

Hi Alvaro,
The phone does show as compatible, https://www.fitbit.com/uk/devices#galaxy_a8 but since an Android update and then a Fitbit app update it’s been struggling to sync. I managed to get it to sync yesterday by turning on all day sync and waiting an hour, but this slowed the phone down considerably and shouldn’t be the only way.
We’ve done many of the troubleshooting steps several times, and they have previously synced but suddenly don’t, is this not something that should actually be looked into?
Thanks

Hi Alvaro,
Any more updates on this? Other users have the same problem too. The troubleshooting steps don't work and this is a compatible device.
Thanks,
Aimee

Hi! @AlvaroFitbit ,
I have the same issue with my fitbit and now my alarms don't work anymore either.
I have done all the steps up to even unpairing my fitbit charge 2 from my phone and the app and it it not working.
I am very anxious about this, I love my fitbit and I'm really scared it's screwed up... I don't have the money to buy a new one...

Same problem with Sony Xperia XA Ultra, since update to app and Charge 2 firmware my Bluetooth started eating 85% of my battery consumption that's when I noticed Syncing had gone from a little flaky to outright useless, I like the new app layout, but updating the firmware at the same time makes it difficult to identify the culprit
