Charge 2 Won't Sync/Can't Add back to account

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

It looks like my Charge 2 hasn't synced since monday so I tried removing the device from my fitbit app. And now I can't seem to add it back again. I've gotten as far to putting the four digit code in and then it says try again and offers suggestions. I've restarted my phone, turned off and on bluetooth, deleted and reinstalled the fitbit app. I have a google pixel 2XL if that matters.

This is happening to me as well.

I had it synced last on Friday, Sept 21st. After several attempts of syncing my Fitbit following that time, I uninstalled the app and removed my charge 2  on my Fitbit account and re-added it. Nothing has worked. I've done what you did. I have a Google Pixel 3aXL

I can't even get that far. My watch was working fine till oct 1st. It did an update and ever since it won't sync. Tried forgetting the device, but now it won't pair. Can't even discover the device. Even worse, when it updated it changed the time. So now it doesn't even work as a watch. Right now its 12:51 am and my watch says its 10:02pm.

Same issue. On pixel 3, happened after Android 11 update.

Pixel 3 sorry.

I am having a similar issue.  Contacted Fitbit helpline and the person that tried to help had me remove my device but was unable to explain how to add it back.  The customer service rep had to refer to the script but couldn't seem to figure it out himself.  It seems that Fitbit has created an issue for older Fitbit models.  Poor customer service and I'm ready to find an alternative to Fitbit.

It must be a Pixel issue. I have a Pixel 3 and my Charge 2 stopped updating Sep 20. Perhaps the latest update is no longer compatible?

Not sure what to do!

Me too! Pixel 3.

I'm thinking it's a charge2 issue. I did everything that was mentioned on message boards and websites:

removed device from blue tooth - now I can't add it

removed device from fitbit app - again, now I can't add it - can get 4 digit code, but then nothing

I reinstalled the app

I reset the fitbit

All with NO results. so I haven't been tracking for DAYS. Super frustrating. Not sure if this is inline with the Google Pixel 3 android update to version 11?

I also have a Charge 2 that has stopped syncing since the app updated in the last night on my end. I believe this is an app issue as it was been working on Android 11 up until yesterday. I have a Pixel 3. I cannot re-add my Charge 2 since removing it from my connected devices. My bluetooth can see the Charge 2 and I do get up to the page where I can enter my code in but after that, no connection. I'm trying to find an older version of the app so I can rollback the update but no luck.

Looks like it might be the Android update. Found this on the Android forums, happening to Pixel phones on other bluetooth devices after Android 11 update: https://support.google.com/pixelphone/thread/71338593?hl=en

I had this issue last week, and after hard re-starting the app, uninstalling, installing, turning off bluetooth, turning on bluetooth, etc. Nothing. I then deleted the FitBit from my account, but couldn't get it added back. I found somewhere on here where someone was able to add their device to another app. I tried our iPad, and that worked. I then installed the FitBit on my Pixel 3, and it showed up. Synced fine for a few days. Now, it hasn't synced since Monday morning. I tried syncing with the iPad this morning to see if it would fix the issue again, but it told me it couldn't find the device. I then deleted the app from my phone and tried again. Same. No luck. I am at a loss now. I guess maybe it's time for an upgrade, but I'd like to wait a little longer since I haven't had any issues previously.

Having the same issue with my Charge Hr. I have an LG android. It also will not sync with my dongle on my PC now either. The same things happened after the last Fitbit app update and it took a few weeks to resolve then. Really frustrated with you all breaking things that were not broken before the updates!

Honestly thought it was just me!  Have been furiously trying to refresh, resynch and reinstall everything since Monday and nothing has been working.  Also have a Pixel (3a) and everything's been fine until the latest app update.  Here's hoping someone manages to fix the issue soon as I don't want to lose the fact I managed to do over 10,000 steps on Tuesday for the first time in a while 😂

I have the same issue on an apple iPhone 10.  I can't get synch to work.  is this a ploy so we have to buy another fitbit (upgrade?)

Me too plus when I was able to sync steps it has calculated them as kjs and not steps.   I am linked to several other programs dependent on the data including my health insurance.   My calories counter was able to sync my activity from the app but reflects the info differently.  My problem appears from Thurs 8th October.   I am in oz.

Me too -- did you ever get it sorted? Has anybody from Fitbit ever replied?

LIke other people who replied, I"ve removed the Charge 2 from my account and now can't see it via bluetooth. Can't see it from via Bluetooth on either my android phone or my mac laptop. Connect won't launch. I've reinstalled everything, restarted the fitbit, upgraded everything in site, switched bluetooth on and off repeatedly... nothing works. Looks like time to get a different brand of fitness tracker.
