I have a new Charge 2 that we got in December the the wrist band won't stay attached. I don't want to purchase a new band if this is a known problem. Thoughts?

@jrmurph, it is possible that the small screw on the inside end of the band has come lose and needs to be tightened.  Check this thread on this problem:

Thanks for a fast response.

I have lost one Alta fit bit due to the band being poorly designed. I have another one and it came off twice, thank goodness I realized it happened. Definitely a better design is needed.

@Wendy8, when you say it is coming off, are you saying the band is seperating from the tracker? Or is it the latch getting undone?

Thank you USAFLarry. Fitbit didn't want to know and didn't want to help. Apparently that wristband question (or any quality/fitbit issues) simply isn't in their script. Should have visited this forum first; would have resulted in zero frustration. Smiley Happy

I have bought 2 fitbit in just over a year.  My first  band fell off while I was mowing grass and I ran over it.  Saved the money and bought a new fitbit and it's band fell off too. I tightened the screw as suggested but it didn't help. I then super glued it on and it lasted about a month and fell off.  Now I'm pissed and may look for a totally different type not from fitbit.

Thought it was the set screw. It wasn't The bands are often defective, as I've since learned. Quite common. They split in a manner that is really difficult to see, which is why I thought (at first) it was a set-screw issue. FitBit won't acknowledge the defect. And by the time I was able to get a response from ANYONE from Fitbit, they were like 'oh gosh, oh gee, it's now out of warranty'. Smart on their part. Dawdle long enough that the warranty period expires. I feel your frustration. Fitbit should take a leaf from the folk who make the Instant Pot. They understand customer service.

Just wanted to throw in my solution. I just inherited one and had same issue. I verified it was the strap itself and not the connector on the device. Tightening screw did not help, but using the small screw driver to gently lever out the clip on the strap got it to click back into place. Hopefully it stays...

No. The band was broken. Not the set-screw at all. Defective (split) band. Not impressed with Fitbit. As the months have gone along, have heard from a number of people who also ended up with a defective band. Guessing band replacement is a nice money-maker for Fitbit.

I’m experiencing the exact same issue. Im highly disappointed with the company. You would think they would offer better service for their cheaply made bands

It is surprising at the amount of complaints that have been made. I ended up super gluing mine and it held up for several months. I did just the other day have to glue it again. It definitely is a design flaw. My first Fitbit did the same thing but that one fell off while I was cutting grass and I ran over it. Very surprising  to see I had the same issue with my 2nd one.

I have a 3 month old versa 3 with the same issue that they wouldn't stand behind. I'm looking at different company. Galaxy seem to be pretty nice.
