He is not trolling!!! Himself and the rest of us have every right to compalin about our charge 2! If yours works so great I am happy for you. Ours don't. He was not saying anything about counting steps while not moving. You need to read what is being said. He had a vaild point.

I just used Google maps to calculate the distance of a walk I took with my son in a stroller. Total distance was 4.0 miles, but my tracker only picked up on 2.02...assuming this is because I was pushing a stroller the whole time, but that is a HUGE disparity!! Any tips on how to fix this as I am often pushing a stroller??

One of the worst things about Fitbit is that it actually doesn't track your steps if you are pushing a cart at the supermarket, doing elliptical at the gym, or walking a stroller etc. All you can do is tie it to you ankle and hope for the best (I know it's impractical but I do it). This device is a waste of time if you are looking to count steps accurately. People are going to defend it but I've been using this for 6 months now and steps are usually way off. Other day I was driving and it counted 12000+ steps for no reason and I was shocked to see how stupid this device and it's makers are thay they didn't even test it properly before launching it in the market. I tell everyone never to buy Fitbit.

The issue I'm noticing is that it sometimes doesn't recognize that I'm walking for 30-50 steps and it never recognizes those steps. And I don't know how or why it does this or how to get it to "wake up" and start counting. This morning it took over 100 steps for it to start recording steps.

Try making a braided rug! The wrist action of braiding really builds up the step count!

I just purchased my FB Charge 2 not even a week ago and I can’t tell you how disappointed I am with its accuracy. The first time I used it to track my exercise, Map My Fitness says 4 miles and burned 667 calories. Fit Bit Charge 2 says 3.6 miles and 425 calories. At mile 1 MMF said 1 mile, my FBC2 said .98 (not too bad...pretty close). Then at MMF mile 2, FBC2 said 1.88 (now .12 miles off).MMF mile 3, FBC2 said 2.77 (now -.23 miles off) and then mile 4 FBC2 said 3.61 (off -.39 miles). That is a significant distance and 242 calories. Map my Fitness uses GPS and I have verified the distance with my car. The second time I used my Fitbit was even worse: I went 4.59 miles and my Fitbit said 2.83. I’m seriously ready to return it!!!

I just got my fitbit charge 2. Wearing it on my non dominate wrist. This morning it told me I walked 587 steps from my bedroom to my car and the number of steps max should've been 30. Every time I move my arm at all it counts multiple steps. I paid good money for this and if it can't do better than this I'm going to return it and get a Garmin.

Hi I just bought a charge 2 n I’m doing 10,000 steps a day there’s no way. I’ve done everything it’s said to do and still it’s off by 1000s if someone could help that’d be great. I’ve done the restart and still nothing please help or I’m gonna have to return it

There is a problem with accuracy I do not see mentioned here. With all of the accepted solution steps the Charge 2 will not track steps in excess of 133-136 steps per minute. The finely tuned algorithms are in error, because even a free app Runzi on a phone strapped to the middle of my back can keep up with me at 1-167 steps per minute. Sync the tracker, note the number of steps on tracker and app take 145 steps at 145 for a minute and most times the tracker shows at most 22 steps. Take a mile walk at 145 steps per minute and you will get crazy long distance, and crazy short count of steps with no consistency other than the log on Fitbit.com has apparently been using an algorithm and manipulated to a rounded distance and steps recorded to be 133-136 steps per minute times some variable based on the stride length you entered, but never the actual one you enter. I played by changing from 64 years old to 20 yrs old, and the data is corrected greatly for one day, and then subsequently re-recorded as something in the 133-136 step per minute range. It appears to me to be finely tuned to manipulate expectations, not record accurately so I know what I am doing.

I have had my Charge 2 fail to record steps for over a mile when someone or thing other than me turns on "Always connected" whether Bluetooth failure or other interference, it locks the tracker at the same displayed step count regardless of pace, or impact. It comes free on it's own, or I reset it, but no way to reset miles from home and charging cord. The battery level is always then significantly lower after reset than displayed. It is as if it has been consuming a great deal of energy in a tight active loop of disfunction.

The other day I woke up to find I'd taken 76 steps in my sleep and as far as I know I don't sleep walk. It also tells me I've burned an insane amount of calories. Sitting at my desk typing and reaching to the printer ON my desk does not burn 1100 calories . I'm done. I'm returning mine and getting the Garmin Vivoactive HR. I want a fitness tracker that will actually track my fitness.

I didn't even have mine on and it recorded that I had walk 15 steps and burned 1,378 calories. While that is my dream workout, it's not at all what I paid for. I am returning it and I did buy the Garmin vivotech hr. It was $100 off over the weekend, so not only will I hopefully get better health tracking, when I return this piece of crap I'll be ahead by around 75 bucks. Not a bad deal.

In my humble experience with my charge 2 which I love by the way I don’t know if y’all know this but when your out walking it will record hills as floors.

I have found putting the charge2 securely in my waist band counts more accurately, and has the added benefit it is safer from water, and damage to the delicate display crystal. I only unclip one side of the band so I can "dummy tie" it to a belt or belt loop for retrieval. If the HR sensor is to the skin, the heart rate data has been reasonable too. Best of luck 12/12/17
