Charge 2 band falls off

So I have the charge 2 and I love it. But in the recent weeks the one side of the band keeps falling off. It will unlatch in my shirt sleeve and just hang, or it will literally fall off my wrist. I can’t seem to figure out how to fix it.

Do I need a new band or is it a problem with the two metal pieces that latch together?

Any help is appreciated as it’s just getting super annoying.

@amslyk Welcome to the Fitbit Community! I hope you're doing well! Sorry to hear that your band is falling off. Try pulling the metal tab to the outside to help it secure the tracker.

So it works temporarily. But it still fell off at the end of the day.

But maybe I am not fully understanding what “pulling the metal tab to the outside” means.

@amslyk thank you for the update. Basically check the metal part of the wristband, there is a metal tab at the end that you can pull to help it better clasp with the tracker. It is the part that shows highlighted that your press when you remove the band but in this case you will pull it to the opposite side while it is removed from the tracker.

Do let me know if the issue persist.

Okay that is what I did then. I’ll try it again, maybe I didn’t pull it out enough.

Ok so pulling the metal tab worked for about a week. Now the other side falls off occasionally as well as the side I initially talked about. Pulling the metal tab out so often I think has caused the plastic around it to weaken because now with the slightest pressure it just bends off.

Whats my next beat option..getting a new band?

I am having the same issue even after swapping band with my father who has a brand new Fitbit charge 2

What should I do??

My Fitbit is only 4 months old so I believe this is unacceptable

I am so bummed that my charge HR 2 fell off somewhere and I have been searching for the past couple of days. Sadly, I was out biking on road when this happened, so not sure where it fell. I rode my bike again the same path and haven't found it out. Sad that I can't afford to buy another one now. I wish Fitbit made a way to indicate that the tracker is nearby when we check the phone, hopefully in future.

My Charge 2 just started doing this. The band seems broken and will not "click" into place when attached to the Charge 2. Gonna call in a ticket on Monday.

So I have had this problem for some time now however I only use the Fitbit to monitor my sleep. I should have googled this a year ago. What is the answer? New band? A few posts here say continues challenges. Since I use for sleep only it is not so critical.

I have gone through 2 fitbits and multiple bands. All the bands fail, which caused the loss of my first fitbit while hiking on Mt. Washington

Mine does the same.  Every 3 months it starts to fall off.  You could almost set your watch by it. I am always sent a new one but it is annoying that they keep doing it.  Think I'm on my 6th or 7th now and it's just started doing it again.  It must be the main unit causing it rather than the bands.  Unless all the bands are faulty.

Yep its happening again and we are on vacation. Irritating

Fitbit will send you a replacement band and that one will likely fail too.  Once the original warranty is up they will no longer replace the bands.  They don't stand behind their products. Best to avoid.

Best Answer

Agreed!!  I've replaced my band several times within the warranty period and now they won't replace since it's out of warranty.  It's obviously a defective design!

Best Answer

I am on my second band in 2 years.  The band is doing the same thing that the replacement band did as it keeps falling off the metal tabs that it connects to.  I think the metal tabs on the tracker are defective and I don't want to lose the tracker.

Please advise.

Thanks.
