So I have the charge 2 and I love it. But in the recent weeks the one side of the band keeps falling off. It will unlatch in my shirt sleeve and just hang, or it will literally fall off my wrist. I can’t seem to figure out how to fix it.
Do I need a new band or is it a problem with the two metal pieces that latch together?
Any help is appreciated as it’s just getting super annoying.

The only advice to give is next time don't buy a Fitbit. They know it's a bad design but refuse to stand behind their product.
If you're within your 1 year warranty they will send you another defective band for free but it to will eventually fall off. Once you are outside the 1 year warranty you're on your own. Hence the only good solution is to avoid Fitbit. The company is losing money, it's not hard to see why. Tell you friends and family to avoid Fitbit.

I’ve been having the same problem for months. Tried and managed 5 days without my watch falling back off until it came off again today 😞

Mine has been falling off for months now. I ordered a new band and it does the same thing 😞

Yeah this is definitely my last one ever and I'm not recommending it to anyone anymore.

yep it seems to have a high failure rate. Band breaks no matter how careful you are with it. I think they designed the band to do this so that you buy a new one.

I’m having the same issue. The band just fell off on one side and will not reconnect. How do I get a replacement? Thanks

Ask them to send a new one. Once a band starts falling off the new one will probably fall off too after a while.

It seems this is a common problem caused by poor design. Has anyone else had success getting a third replacement wristband for the initial replacement after the 1 year warranty elapsed? There's no way I'm going to keep buying junky wristbands...

They design them this way so at just about 1 year your band breaks and you either lose your Fitbit and purchase a new one or get a new band. I lost my first Charge 2 when I was out running errands. I thought I just didn't have it on right. Sooooo, I bought another Charge 2 and in just 7 months the band kept falling off. Lucky it happened in the house. After several hours over x-amount of days on the phone with CS they wanted to replace it (under warranty) with a blue band. I said no, I have and only wear a black band. Oh, there are no black available. So they send me a purple band and finally a black band but not like the one I had. And now just over 13 month the black band breaks (won't stay on) and there are no Charge 2 bands available anywhere!

This is the reply I got from their "Customer service":
We appreciate your honest feedback.
We do understand how inconvenient and disappointing it has been to have this issue during your time with Fitbit and we sincerely apologize for this outcome as this is definitely not the experience that we want you to have with us.
However, as much as we'd like to provide more options for you, please understand that our warranty period is based on the date of purchase of the device so it doesn't refresh with replacements. You may also visit x for more information about our warranty policy.
We hope to see you back on track. Let us know if you have additional questions or concerns.
So yeah, they know the wristbands are defective, because they've ready replaced one, but then the replacement breaks after the same exact amount of time, they won't replace it.
This company is pathetic, and they just lost a customer for life...

The problem is that the black plastic part connected to the metal clip disintegrates after about a year. Multiple people have the exact same issue. This is a product defect, and it should be replaced regardless of when the Fitbit itself was purchased. I had one wristband replaced a little under a year ago, and now they're refusing to replace this one even though it has the exact same problem.
I just exported all of my data and deleted the app. This is a horrible business practice and horrible customer service.

I just switched to an Apple Watch and it's great. I couldn't deal with the breaking wristbands anymore.

i have the same issue and nothing resolves it. Think it's just a poor design. This is my second Fitbit, the first fell to pieces, this one regularly falls off my wrist. Won't be buying a third. Such a shame as tracker itself is excellent but if it's unwearable there's not much point.

I've tried doing the tightening of the metal brace after a couple days it fell off, and I tried it again but to no avail.(╯︵╰,)

Same issue here. Will never buy this product again and will let everyone I know not to buy one. My sister was just about to buy one and now will not. Apple Watch here I come!

Same here. I had a Charge 1, which I liked, but the band literally split off the back of the watch and fell apart just a year after I bought it. And I'm VERY careful with my watches. I then got a Charge 2, which I liked a lot less because they made the interface more cumbersome and that clip-on charger was flaky from day 1, but I was still using it as my regular fitness watch. Yesterday, the strap broke right off where it joins to the watch. Pulling that metal tab over doesn't keep it on and no one seems to have had that work, so why is that an accepted solution? Something in there is actually broken. I'd be a fool to buy yet another Fitbit. While they have good features, they are poorly designed and frankly, I trust this company a lot less because they make their user community work for free as their support reps instead of having staff do it. Going to look at some other brands today.

I am having this problem too, and it’s out of warranty. Thanks to your comments I didn’t spend money on a new band, and so sad that
there’s a design problem because I did love it. Guess that chapter is closed. No
more Fitbits.

Good call to jump ship. The company is losing money and the stock is down 28% since the start of August. Fitbit clearly has a company policy to ignored legitimate complaints from it's consumers. They are trained to say sorry and offer a % of a new product, this business model is doomed.
Like a lot of others here, I'm responsible for getting friends and family to buy a Fitbit, I believe word of mouth really pushed their sales. Now I now I tell everyone to avoid Fitbit. You are better off spending the money on an Apple Watch, Garmin, or go the other route and buy a cheap knockoff, they will last longer than Fitbits do. Let the money hemorrhaging at Fitbit continue, they deserve it.

I also have my wristband fall off. Appears that one side no longer latches correctly. I believe I purchased last November. Can it be fixed or under warranty to replace?
