So I have the charge 2 and I love it. But in the recent weeks the one side of the band keeps falling off. It will unlatch in my shirt sleeve and just hang, or it will literally fall off my wrist. I can’t seem to figure out how to fix it.
Do I need a new band or is it a problem with the two metal pieces that latch together?
Any help is appreciated as it’s just getting super annoying.

Yes, just call support. You'll need pictures of your broken band.

I just tried to adjust the metal out as noted as a solution on another person's inquiry. Appears to be working at this time. Thank you

I did figure out that you can crazy glue the metal tab and reattach the band that way if it's broken and won't stay on. Of course, you can no longer change the strap, but it's working for me until I can get a new watch. Not sure how long it will hold though!

My Fitbit charge now falls off of my wrist all.the.time. It happened first last year, created a ticket and they sent me the replacement wristbands. They worked great! Until a few weeks ago when it started falling off. I had to start walking holding my wrist to stop it from falling. Only today, it fell off it several times. I contacted support again and told them I didn’t believe it was the wristbands (why would the wristbands stop actually working in under a year) but the actual watch. They answered saying that because my guarantee was expired (totally acceptable, I would’ve paid) that I “could look elsewhere for the wristbands”. Ignoring the fact that I don’t think that’s the problem. I am NOT happy with customer support.

Yes, the way the bands are designed with the plastic latching to the metal, the plastic has a weak point on the two sides and often cracks preventing the latch from staying. Have had this happen to numerous bands with each only lasting a few months. It has to do with the overall design though, it's terrible. There are cheap compatible bands on Amazon to get you through while the device is still functioning, but in my experience the device won't last much longer at which point you may just want to search for a different brand as Fitbit has so many product issues and they don't do repairs.

Hi I have just contacted FItbit re my charge 2 as the band fell from about a month after I got it. I bought a new strap myself and yes after a month it started to drop off 😞
I just realised that I have a year guarantee so hopefully after seeing this I am hoping I will get a new Fitbit rather than just a replacement strap because there is obviously a fault and hopefully you have dealt with it and now produced a Fitbit Charge 2 with no fault.

I would be surprised if they replaced the watch...The design was to fail so people would buy a new...band..watch...whatever the case maybe...but people are not loyal to this brand since there are others out there.
Nope that "fix" does nothing...it is the cheap, thin plastic inside that breaks. Doesn't matter how careful you are with it...it is flimsy.

Same here and fitbit does nothing to correct a bad design!

I have tried for the last hour to reattach the band on my fitbit charge 2. read you instructions but think the block on the watch has warn and it is not big enough to catch. Have had it since Christmas.

The inside plastic piece has completely crumbled. I had pieces of it...all of my bands have done this.

LOL!!! Absolutely not. They washed their hands off of it. “You can buy bands from retailers here and there”. That’s all they offered. I won’t buy anything, just waiting so I can get my hands on an Apple Watch instead.

Fitbit have been helpful so far as mine is still under guarantee. I will update on how it goes.
Sorry to hear about yours. Good luck.

FYI: My solution of crazy glueing the strap back on is working so far. It's been a few weeks and I'm still able to use the watch. I don't think it will hold long term, and I am no longer able to add a new strap to the watch, but it has bought me some time. Anyone who wants to get more life from the watch might want to try it. I still will not buy another FitBit because it's too costly to have to get a new one each year or two.

My actial tracker is faulty but they have aent me a new band in spite of me telling them that I have already tried a new strap and it still falls. I will try it again.
Good luck!
Apple watch sounds good!

i have a problem and stopped using my charge 2, but i am not sure my problem is the same thing.
one side of the band becomes detached from the watch itself. my theory is that the band has become more flexible with use. i have had to make the circumference of the band smaller and smaller. i'm getting close to the hole for the smallest fit. i think this may be putting stress on the band, but, the same side falls off every time.
i am already wearing the small watch.
what is happening? it has happened so often that i can't trust it and have stopped wearing it.
thanks.

It will keep falling off. They don't care. Good luck.

I agree. The block on the watch, if you look at it with a magnifying glass shows that is has warn too small to take the band and lock it
