So I have the charge 2 and I love it. But in the recent weeks the one side of the band keeps falling off. It will unlatch in my shirt sleeve and just hang, or it will literally fall off my wrist. I can’t seem to figure out how to fix it.
Do I need a new band or is it a problem with the two metal pieces that latch together?
Any help is appreciated as it’s just getting super annoying.

The plastic inside is cracked. It is very thin and when taking the band off and on cracks it...my best guess. and then it becomes loose. It is not repair able. It is designed to make you buy a new watch or band. The watch itself also seems to lose step count, and flights of stairs...stuff like that...

Hmm. The crazy glue failed yesterday. It did hold for about a month though!
Alternatives? The Apple watch is sooooo huge and clunky. Nearly $500 CAD and looks super cheap. Fitbit has better designs (visually) but they cheaped-out on developing the straps.
Wondering if Fitbit will ever read or reply to this thread. Probably not: a company uses community-based support so they don't have to hire staff to do it. That's actually one of my major issues with this company. I like connecting to users, but to discuss things, not to get support.

of course, if you own an apple product, you have probably used apple's community support. and microsoft had one too. and sony. it seems to be the way to go these days. too many users to support?
i won't buy another band or fitbit. i have no idea whether apple watch users are happy with theirs.

My Charge 2 started yesterday. I returned the band which was detached and it was good for half a day. I googled and arrived to this community. Sad to see there is no fix.

I bought an aftermarket strap that I find much better than the original.

Both sides of my charge 2 are coming off, I have tried to pull out the tabs and it only helps for a while. I have lost the unit twice because of it. I think the metal tabs on the unit are wearing down that makes it worse

I think, I have found an answer. Bought Yandu replacement straps (from Amazon, three for £8.99, great value). Have used for several weeks, no problem at all. In fairness I think I originally chose the wrong size strap (from Fitbit). The original longer strap was more difficult to put on and having to pull the long strap tighter perhaps put more pressure on the part where the strap clips to the watch. Anyway, this has worked for me - hope may be helpful to others.

Carefully examine the plastic part around the metal clamp. My guess is a piece of the plastic has broken off thereby not allowing things to attach securely. This happened to me. I was sent a new band then the same thing just happened to that band as well. Horrible design flaw. Very frustrating. Now, I get to write to Fitbit again to see how this can be remedied. IF..IF I ever buy another fitbit, it will be because the design of it allows me to tie a burlap cord on it for a band!

I have the same issue. it looks like a small metal piece has worn down and won't clamp together. I don't think a new band will help as the piece worn down is on the fitbit not the band. UGHH I love to wear my fitbit but now if I push it together, I will surely lose it!

So with my charge 2 the small tabs on the unit itself are worn. When I called customer service he said there was good news I could buy a new band, when I explained it was not the band he said they don't last forever and they have a new selection of units. When I said they should last for more than a couple years and I don't think I will buy another one he replied that he supports my choice options! Haaa
