Hi there,
I have had my Fitbit for about 2 years now and I love it!! Only problem I’m having now is my battery doesn’t last more than 2 days! Does Fitbit replace the batteries?

Unfortunately, @NikkiDenner10, the Charge 2 battery is not replaceable.

So when it dies you just have to replace it? That’s kinda crappy !

Depends on if it is in warranty or not.And looks like yours is past warranty
https://www.fitbit.com/legal/returns-and-warranty
If not they do offer a discount

@NikkiDenner10 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! It's great to have you here! While the Charge 2 battery isn't replaceable like @USAF-Larry said and you can always contact our Support team following @WendyB's suggestion I would like to know if you have tried anything on your tracker? You can try cleaning the contacts with a toothpick or toothbrush and then use cotton with rubbing alcohol. Restart your tracker by doing the following:
Plug the charging cable to your computer or UL certified wall adapter.
Align the contacts of the tracker with the charging cable and plug it in making sure it snaps securely.
Your tracker should start charging.
Press the button for 10 to 12 seconds.
You should see your tracker's firmware version and you can now unplug your tracker.
After this fully charge it by plugging it for a couple of hours. Use your computer's usb port (don't use a hub) or use an UL listed usb wall adapter. Also try disabling all day sync if you have it enabled on your phone and remove some alarms if you have several active.
Let me know how it goes!

My Fitbit is just over 2 years old and the battery died. How do I get a replacement battery? I use it daily.

@CoachPamG Welcome! It's nice to have you on board! As @NikkiDenner10 said the best thing to do is letting our Support team know about the issue. You will get an email from them. I also want to add that the battery isn't replaceable as you can't open the Charge 2.
Keep me posted!

While Fitbit doesn't replace them there are electronics repair places that do for about half the cost of the original price. I've seen one on Youtube.

Sadly, Fitbit batteries aren’t replaceable. My battery suddenly stopped holding a charge two months past warranty expiration. You can contact customer service and they’ll offer you a small discount on the replacement of the same kind or a bit bigger of a discount on the current model.
Either way, in my case, buying a replacement would mean spending a total $500 on Fitbit products in less than 18 months, due to a faulty battery that the customer service rep said had nothing to do with me.
Shoddy customer service if you ask me. Better off to buy a knock off at a cheaper price.

Fitbit the company doesn't replace them but that doesn't mean they don't get replaced. Like this video for example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYwEM7W19dg

@Erinp1978 Welcome! Thanks for being part of our Community! Sorry to hear about your Charge 2 not holding its charge past its warranty period. Support does need to follow the warranty policy so if you device is found defective after this period they won't be able to replace it.
@realmanpwns this looks interesting but it is something I can't recommend doing. Please check the limitations on the Fitbit warranty about making changes to your device (it is up to you if you wish to proceed).
I'll be around!

After just over a year of daily usage, the battery on my Fitbit Charge 2 refused to hold a charge longer than 15min! I updated the firmware, followed all the tips online to extend the life. Result? Zip, Zero, Zilch improvement.
Non-replaceable batteries and a short warranty period are clearly cases of built-in-obsolescence that afflicts overly greedy companies these days. This is rather lame. Unreliable shoddy product. Unreliable shoddy customer service.
This company is going on my Do-Not-Buy list.

Can you replace a battery for. Fitbit watch?

So your basically saying Fitbit has made a product that sometimes fails just after the warranty expired. That is what is happening to me. I would expect if you care about customer satisfaction and customers in general you would offer a replacement. They are expensive.

I have been reading about replacing the batteries, and see that most models are not replaceable. I have the Alta - is there any home video you found to replace the Alta? The store I bought it from is now closed, and I do not have the receipt!
