Charge 2 (bought in 2018)

I have been pleased with this fitbit for many years. Recently it has been spiking to 172 just by a treadmill walk. I have used a chest strap and compared readings with my treadmill and my treadmill will have be at 113. Has my Charge 2 just run its course? Happy to take your suggestions for a new one but would prefer to not have the expense right now. I have already restarted my charge 2 and there's been no difference.

@urend   I don't think you can get a full explanation for your heart rate monitor's behavior.  All tech can fail, so it is as good an explanation as any.

There are two trackers currently available, the Charge 6 and the Inspire 3.  The Charge 6 has hardware and features that aren't in the Charge 2, the ECG and EDA (a stress management feature).  The inspire 3 is the closest to your Charge 2.  Fitbit removed the altimeter, so they don't count floors.

As long as you understand that your Fitbit heart rate data has errors, you can keep using it until you decide.
