I can’t see the display when out in the sun is there any remedy for this?

Hello @deecol

There is no option to manually or automatically change the brightness of the Charge 2 that I’m aware of. You can try changing your clock face to see if that improves the brightness. If the problem persist you can also try restarting your Charge 2 : https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1186.htm

Hopefully those two options will help. 😃 Let me know how it goes

I had the problem as well and couldn't fix it on a Charge HR. Finally bought one on eBay for a VERY good price and solved the problem. Mine was about 2 years old.

@deecol   Fitbit's monochrome displays have always been problematic in bright sun.  There are threads about the Charge 2 screen going back to 2018.  The Charge 2 doesn't have the ambient light sensor that was added to the Charge 3 and newer monochrome devices.  It helped some, but not a lot.  While a clock face with a large bold font for the time might help you see the time, it won't help in other screens like when you are using the Exercise app.

Like I wrote, many users complained about this when it was a newer device.  I stopped using my Charge 2 several years ago, but I remember needing to get in the shade to see some screens.  If you feel like this is a new change in your screen, a restart might help, but rarely does.  The Charge 2 is an older device.  As an example, the Charge HR was released in 2015 and was put on Fitbit's Legacy Device list in 2020.  The Charge 2 was released in 2016.  I expect the Charge 2 will be on the list with the next update.

My honest opinion is that there is no troubleshooting that will help your device.
