Charge 2 counts 2K+ steps crossing bridge in car, can I turn off tracking?

Every time I drive across the Causeway Bridge over Lake Pontchartrain to New Orleans (24 mile long bridge), the FitBit Charge 2 translates the bridge seams into steps. I end up with 2,000 + steps every time I cross the bridge. I thought that if I just took the FitBit off it might not count but that didn't work. I tried charging it when going across the bridge but it still seems to track. Is there some way to bypass tracking or turn the Charge 2 off?

Currently you can log the time as driving, or download an app such as drive it.

Similar issue, my charge 3 counts floors, 5 of them every time i cross a bridge on my bicycle. Oddly enough 2x in the past week it auto detects my bike ride to the grocery store and records the data properly but not the ride returning home, when it instead only counts as me climbing 5 flights of stairs when I cross a bridge and zero info for my return bike ride home.
