Charge 2 decreases steps when activity is added to fitbit

My tracker shows I did almost 12000 steps this morning but when I log the activity it brings it back down to 9000. I've tried deleting the activity and reentering it several times, and it still happens. What can I do?

When you log an activity it overwrites the tracked steps with those for the manually logged activity. In this case it seems the manually logged activity estimated fewer steps. Why are you manually logging it if it was tracked by the fitbit?

It had automatically logged my run like normal, but when I got home it decreased the amount of steps I took. I looked it up, and they said it could be my activity log changing the number of steps. So I deleted the activity and tried adding it back a couple times to be sure. How can I change the overwrite for steps?

I had the same issue yesterday. I worked out, synced, then went for a lunch walk and synced and it dropped my steps by 1/2. I went on another walk after work, synced and it dropped back down to the original synced number from the morning. The watch is charged, I reset it several times during the day but it continued to remove steps. My activities at lunch and after work were not logged.
